Chapter 15

"Hello, I will need you to tell me who you and Timothy were around, and when the last time you saw him was." The man took out his notepad. He had a stone cold look on his face.

I don't know how police can act so calmly in such a tragedy. Which is why sometimes, cops can get on my nerves.

I didn't know what to say. I felt tongue tied, I couldn't focus on anything. The only thing I could focus on was wondering where Timmy is. I didn't have enough time talking about what happened a couple hours ago, when everything was fine.

I need to know what's happening now.

"So?" He started to get impatient.

I breathed in deep, paused , and began to speak. " As soon as we got our jumping socks on, Timmy and I darted at the nearest trampoline."

"And where was that trampoline?"

"That one." I pointed. "In the corner, near the end of the park."

He wrote it down before I even finished talking.

I tried to wait until he was finished writing.

"Go on," He said.

"And well, after about five jumps on the trampoline, I was talking to Timmy and then... "

Wait. Then when I thought about it, I realized that Timmy must have disappeared while I was talking to him!

"Duh!" I blurted out.

The police man looked confused.

I looked back at him, "I was talking to Timmy and he wasn't there!"

My eyes widened.

I was right there and I never even noticed. I never even saw him when I looked to see if he was there. I should've known!

A tear ran down my cheek, instead of wiping it off instantly. I let it run down.

"I could have looked for him," My voice cracked. That's when my tears started coming down like rainfall.

The police officer looked at me, still with that stone cold face.

Another one came by, "Did she answer all of the questions/"

That's when I decided to read their name plates. The one interviewing me, his name plate said Officer Dawn, and the one that just came by, his name plate said Officer Joseph.

"Yes," said Officer Dawn.

"Who was she with?" Asked Officer Joseph.

"Oh.. forgot about that one." Dawn said nervously.

Officer Joseph gave him a look. Which is when I saw a little frightened facial expression from officer Dawn.

"Well?" He turned to me.

" I didn't get a glimpse of their faces because they were jumping around and I was too focused on the trampoline.. But I remember that one of them had on a pink collared top, and the other person had on an oversized green tee shirt. " I said.

Both officers wrote that down.

"Thank you for your time." Said officer Joseph.
