There were a lot of things that I never understood, but this didn't seem to make sense at all!
How could the two officers that investigated us, be Timmy's kidnappers.?
I mean I was pretty suspicious of them too. That officer Dawn had a big stone cold look on his face since I seen him and he looked suspicious when he forgot to ask me who was around us at the time. So maybe I wasn't that surprised, but it was still a shocker.
It has been three days since we got Timmy back and he's still not willing to open up about anything.
I was sick of waiting at that point.
I had to know what happened to him, I don't know why I was so curious, all I know is that I was worried about him. And I know how it is to keep things in, and I don't want Timmy to make the same mistake I made.
We were back home by the way. Everything was sorta back to normal.
Timmy and I were watching cartoons in the living room while Miss Toledo was at work. Miss Toledo works five days a week, and took those two days off to take us to the trampoline park. So she had to make them up. Since she works long hours, that means Timmy and I were going to be home alone a lot.
I was constantly trying to talk to him.
"Hey, are you hungry?"
"Not really"
"How was basketball?"
"Good"
"Do you like this show?"
"I guess."
He's been acting so different. Timmy is a kid who doesn't know when to stop talking. This is the first time I wanted him to talk more.
"Timmy," I said.
"Yes." He said annoyed.
"You know you can tell me anything, right? Whatever happened that night, you can tell me." I tried to sound very calm and supportive.
"I can't tell you, Hollow." He said with a sigh.
"Why?" I asked. "I'm so confused how you can be so traumatized and they never even touched you."
"Have you ever been kidnapped?" He said with an attitude.
"No."
"Alright then, So don't start telling me what I should be traumatized about."
"I-" I've been interrupted by the door.
"Miss Toledo's back already? I said. "That was quick."
I walked to the door and opened it.
It was Suzanne.
"Hi, Hollow!" Said Suzanne. "Is Timmy home?"
"Yea, he is." I said,
I looked towards Timmy. "Wanna go play with Suzanne?" I asked.
Timmy turned frozen.
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, he will be out in a second."
She smiled and went towards the front of the house.
I closed the door.
I looked at Timmy, who looked very frustrated.
"What?" I said.
"Did I tell you that I wanted to go with her?" He said.
"No, but I thought you were just too scared to say that."
"Yeah, that's the problem! Stop assuming! Because I didn't want to go anyway!" He yelled.
"I'm sorry-" I said. "I can tell her that you don't want to go anymore."
"It's too late. " He said slipping on his sneakers.
"No, really-" I said.
"It's too late, Hollow! You basically made me say I wanted to go, so I have to go." He walked towards the door, "See you later." He said walking out the door.
I stood there staring at the door. I was scared for Timmy to leave by himself. Who knows what can happen to him again. He wouldn't want me to hover around him and his friend, thats for sure. So I slipped on my flip flops and headed out the door after him.
The plan wasn't to stalk him... well it was, but I was really following him to watch him, just in case if he heads into danger.
I basically put my head down below the trees in the woods and watched Timmy and Suzanne walk around the block. I followed them through the trees where they couldn't see me. I personally thought Timmy would be scared to be out on his own like this again, but I also kinda knew that he wanted to be outside. He didn't even seem scared.. Of anything. He didn't seem scared of the feeling that he got kidnapped and they did god knows what to him.
Later..
It's been hours and all they did was walk and talk. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat.
All I could hear was the boredom screaming in my head, whining about when it was time to go. I didn't have anything digital, but the sun was beginning to set, so that meant it was too late.
For kids I would expect them to play or do whatever, but they literally just walked around the entire neighborhood as I followed-
Wait.. Maybe they are onto me... I took a look at them as I started to notice Timmy make a side eye. Like he knew I was near him. Even though I knew I was busted, I continued to try to make myself non-visible. I went lower under the bushes, it reminded me of Ma'am how I just ignored the dirt stains on my clothes. She hated when I didn't care when I was dirty.
I ignored the thought. I'll dwell over Ma'am later, right now I have to make sure Timmy doesn't catch me. Last time I went on my own with Timmy he got kidnapped. So i definitely wasn't gonna leave him by myself. He's already mad enough at me, even though I don't know why... I still didn't want to make him even more angry with me than he already was.
I hated how the leaves crackled as I stepped on each one. Being in front of the woods has a thing of always having a bunch of dry leaves in front of it. I'm surprised they didn't hear the leaves this entire time.
Well, I'm surprised Suzanne didn't. Timmy seemed like he was onto something by the way he corner eyed my every move.
I shrugged. Well, it's not like he doesn't know I'm here. He already knows, so i guess I'll just-
Before I could stand up. I felt a strong, manly hand grab my wrist.
I was scared to turn around. I felt my eyes widen as my stomach knotted. The arm that he held began to tingle. I stared straight. Not saying a word.
I felt the person's whisper near my ear, " I know who you are."
I began to shake. I didn't say anything.
"Your name is Hollow Lyanne Mable. You are thirteen years old, and you live with your neighbors, Mary Toledo and Timmy Toledo on 347 Silkhook street due to the fact of your grandmother dying? For what I gather your parents are not really in the picture-"
"Who are you" I said angrily, that's when I turned around.
He was some handsome man with brown hair, tan skin and blue eyes. He looked young, but too professional to be bending down in a pile of leaves in the woods.
I was confused, why would he be talking to me? Out of all people, how would he know all of this information about me?"
"So that kid? He wasn't the one? He asked.
"Who? Ti-" I decided not to say his name. Even though he knew, it was still a risk. "What do you mean? "Wasn't the one"
"He's not Lonnie's kid, we got the wrong one. You are."
I looked this weird man right into the face. "Who are you?"
He pulled out a card that said "FBI" on it. "Someone who needs information." He said.
