This was it. I was walking to my new school with Hawks. He had given me a phone and allowed me to stay in contact with Dabi, saying that as long as I promised not to do anything stupid I could meet up with him soon.
"You ready baby bird?" Hawks asked, seeing how I was anxiously flicking my ears.
In the few days I had been staying with him he had picked up on subtle things. How I fidgeted when I was nervous, or how I tended to always be smiling but it was never genuine. Even how I would 'mrrow' like a cat when I laughed.
