Chapter 8 - Test Day

Today would be an interesting day for me. I slid out of bed and went to take a shower. While there I was singing a quiet song that me and a friend had made at UA, by the name of Tokoyami Fumikage.

Fumi had played the electric guitar while I sang and we had recorded it secretly in Present Mic's recording room.

I heard a knock on my door followed by I male voice.

"Y/n breakfast is ready come down here!" Keigo called. I heard his footsteps fade away and I finished washing my hair before getting out of the shower.

I teleported to the hottest place on earth and my hair dried extremely quickly, before teleporting back and getting dressed in my school uniform. Recently Keigo had been turning off my quirk damper more often, though he always had it on in public unless we are traveling somewhere.

"Okay okay I'm up birdie" I muttered as one of Keigo's feathers pushed me down the stairs.

I rolled my eyes upon seeing some pro heroes at the dining table with Keigo, the ones I had come to know the names of. Rumi or Mirko, Enji or Endeavor, and Tsunagu or Best Jeanist.

"Morning Y/n!" Rumi greeted me. She had become like a sister to me, always taking me out shopping and yelling at people who tried to harass me about Keigo.

"It's too early for this you guys" I groaned, slamming my head down on the table a few times before grabbing some coffee. I was not a morning person. The others chuckled but Enji gave a grunt of agreement, though at least he didn't look half dead.

My only problem with Enji was what he did to Dabi, though if they ever made up about it and Dabi forgave him I might be able to as well. Until then I refuse to be more then respectful around him and he could tell. Tsunagu was just really goofy with me believe it or not.

"You have your physical semester test today you know" Keigo reminded me, handing me a plate of eggs. I swear if it's not chicken it's eggs what is it with this man and cannibalism.

"Yeah I know you fucking cannibal" I replied, eating my food and ducking to avoid Keigo's large wing that was flying at my head, hitting Tsunagu instead.

After a loud laughing from me, Keigo, and Rumi, I grabbed my school bag and teleported to school.

Once there I was lectured by Iida about using my quirk illegally and I had to remind him that I was still not a hero, and I didn't care about it being illegal.

"Cheshire your not a villain anymore!" Mina cried, looking at me in shock. I shook my head chuckling.

"I will die before I ever become a hero" I snarled, sitting down at the back of the room like normal. Normal for me was feet on the desk leaned back.

Now, this probably wasn't 100% true, as going back to being a villain would mean loosing Keigo, and he was definitely important to me.

Many of my classmates gasped, backing away from me with horrified looks on their face. I scoffed and continued to lounge across my desk which ultimately pissed off Iida and Bakugo at the same time. Perfect.

Of course Mr. Aizawa had to walk in a ruin my fun but I guess I can't control it. I sat normally, having a little bit of respect for the man who tried so hard to protect all of us.

"As you know, yesterday you all took the written portion of your semester exams, so now it's time for the physical. I assume you've asked around and gotten some idea of what you'll be doing for this test" he sounded tired like usual, but with a hint of evil intention, which excited me.

"We're gonna be fighting some robots!" Mina and Kaminari cheered, punching the air with huge smiles. Mr. Aizawa on the other hand smirked.

"Not quite. Because of the recent villain attacks we have decided to change up our exam. Instead of fighting robots you will be put in pairs to fight one of your teachers." Nezu, who had just popped up from out of Mr. Aizawa's scarf, announced excitedly.

After most of the pairs were handed out Iida spoke up.

"Sir there's an odd number of us, so who will be fighting alone?" He asked, doing his classic air chops.

"Cheshire will, as she is more than capable of defeating most of our staff, so she'll be fighting two of us at once" Mr. Aizawa interjected before Nezu could reply.

I smirked, my tail swaying excitedly. My mental health still wasn't amazing, but I was much more like my old self, even if I got nervous being in public and Keigo had to make sure everyone left me alone which was a job in itself.

Of course I got to fight last, so once All Might was done basically murdering Midoriya and Bakugo I was up.

They didn't say who I was fighting, but I had a good idea. Walking out to the area I was starting in I looked around seeing lots of trees, like some sort of forest. This was perfect for me.

Suddenly I heard the sound of footsteps and when I turned around I saw none other than Shota Aizawa and Keigo Takami.

"Mrrow! This doesn't seem fair, now does it? Hawks isn't one of my teachers!" I laughed crazily, all the memories of scaring heroes shitless rushing back as I teased the two men.

Keigo lunged for me, but I teleported into a tree above them. The best part of my quirk is that they now had no clue where I was, for all they knew I could've teleported back to Keigo's house.

"You two aren't very good at this are you?" I purred, laying on my stomach while I kicked my legs back and forth on a branch.

Mr. Aizawa grumbled something about me being insufferable and jumped at me, only to miss again. Every time he tried to use his quirk I could see his hair begin to fly up so I would teleport away.

This time I appeared behind him and used his own capture weapon against him, tangling him up before turning on the bird man.

By the time I heard the wings flapping it was too late, as Keigo came flying into me, knocking me to the ground.

"Now so cocky now are we baby bird?" He whispered in my ear as he pinned me to the ground.

"Don't be so sure" he looked confused until I flipped us so I was on top pinning him down. He chuckled at my move, but because I had his wings pinned down he soon realized he was now stuck.

"Looks like you got me kitty~" his voice was suddenly really deep as he smirked up at me, licking his lips.

"Not falling for it" I growled, punching his face so he was knocked out.

"Cheshire Cat wins!" The automatic voice announced, and soon cheers erupted from everyone even if I acted so mean to them all.

Mr. Aizawa and Keigo were taken to Recovery Girl because of their scratch marks and the fact that I basically pounded in Kei's face with a punch that knocked him out.

I ended up falling asleep in Recovery Girl's office even after Mr. Aizawa had left. Mainly because I didn't want to be alone yet with the way I had been not two weeks ago.

Eventually Kei began to slowly wake up, his wings ruffling after being positioned under him as comfortably as Recovery Girl could get them.

"Good fight baby bird." He was still in numbing medication, so his words were a bit slurred and he seemed a bit out of it.

"Rest Kei, we'll talk later" I told him, stroking his forehead until he pulled me into his body with a sigh.

"I love you Y/n" he whispered, so drugged he didn't realize what he had said, but I for sure did.

As flustered as I was training, I decided to pretend it hadn't heard him at all. A hero couldn't love a villain, could they?
