love is never enough
you should know that
but you haven't had that lesson
i am not imposing condescension
maybe we hurt the ones we love
to keep them at arm's length
it takes strength
to admit a misconception
we both have preconceptions
of what love should be
we both want a guarantee
to not be undermined
as it has taken years to build this overt
self-reliance
you show repentance
but again, your attendance
elsewhere
