"do you miss what we used to be?"
tears drops and the endless stops
a love that has implanted itself into my mind
full of every emotion I have never felt
pouring from my skin
my fingertips-
my eyes
maybe we did lose something crucial
but our connection will never be considered
loving your toughness
wanting to view the mystery boy
from a different perspective
you were always too far to reach
we gained each other
cradling me in your arms when I need it most
fathering my every growth struggle
kissing the scars that still hurt the most
the rivers of my tears
the ones that used to wrap around our necks
and send us to rest
have led right back to you
after a long, dreadful drought
a beautiful face, a chaotic soul
ever loving hands I long to hold
I'm your butterfly with crushed wings
yet somehow I'm still flying
