I liked being alone.
Where no one can find me.
A place of secrets that I only know.
Sitting in complete darkness.
That is where I feel most safe.
Silence lingering.
And no unwanted thoughts.
It's peaceful.
Then you came along.
I don't know how you entered my mind.
There were so many doors and locks.
But you got through.
You found me sitting in the dark.
When you entered, your light shined the room.
I then realized I hadn't been alone all those years.
I had love sitting next to me this whole time.
Fear in the corner,
Death lurking behind me,
And happiness staring me in the face.
You helped me see,
That I was never alone.
