"S-Séra." She cleared her throat, heat flooding her cheeks when she realized her voice was an octave too high. Sebastian walked away a few steps, clearly hiding his laugh in a series of coughs, and muttered something about dust allergies. "Séraphine Rosier. It's nice to meet you."
The dark haired wizard nodded, his smile faltering. "I wish it were under better circumstances, but Professor Umbridge wanted me to inform you that you'll be going to detention now and I'll be going later tonight."
Her lips mimicked his, faltering as well. "Now?" She looked at Sebastian worriedly and a bit confused, "Why would we have to go separately?'
"I'm not sure. She's in her office waiting for you."
Sebastian subtly pulled his robe around him, turning now to come to her side protectively. "I'll wait outside. I won't leave you."
Even though she didn't believe it, a confident smile portrayed itself on her lips. She patted his arm affectionately, "Don't. Save me some lunch to eat. I'll come find you."
"In our place?" He inquired, eyebrows scrunching together in obvious concern.
Séraphine nodded, kissing his cheek softly before pulling away. "In our place."
He didn't believe her either, not by the way he pulled her into his arms. His voice was quiet by her ear. "If she harms you, I will kill her. Mark my words, darling."
Detention with a Sociopath
"Enter." Came the high pitched, condescending order.
Séraphine entered the Professor's office. Revulsion immediately set in. The white stone had been transfigured into a pinkish off-white color. There were five columns and five rows of plates on the wall with various cat photos on the center of the plates. The windows were covered with pink and white drapery along with more fabric covering the ceiling.
Pink.
More Pink.
Everything was pink. Professor Umbridge regarded her calmly as she walked in. Her posture was stoic and stiff. She held a small tea plate along with a white tea cup in her other hand. The flowers decorating the cup were unsurprisingly... pink. The only other color in the room, ignoring the pink and white patterned rug, was a large mahogany wood desk she sat behind with gold accents on the legs.
Umbridge's hair was in wrap-around curls on her head. Her cheeks were noticeably too pigmented to be natural. Lips were pressed in a tight smile while her beady eyes stared down at Séraphine as she walked to the chair seated directly across from her.
"Take a seat, Miss Rosier." She pointedly gestured, her smile never slipping.
Séraphine threw a fake, delicate smile on her face, "Merci, Professor."
"The transcripts say that Séraphine Rosier and Ominis Gaunt disappeared in the late 19th century suspiciously. I can see that's not the case." She reflected.
Irritation pulled down at her lips. "And Sebastian Sallow. The three of us disappeared, but it felt like seconds for us-to be thrown into the future."
"Ah, yes. The Sallows just gave birth to a little boy named Albert." She cleared her throat, "A half blood."
She could hear the disdain in her voice, indicating that the witch in front of her was a Pureblood Supremacist. Séraphine narrowed her eyes, but was careful not to say anything as the Professor continued.
