"Croo..Croo, eh?" Séraphine scowled, resisting the urge to smile when Sebastian pulled her into his lap, amusement bright in his eyes, "Quoi?"
He smiled, "Because you're adorable when you try to sound out odd words. It's Crookshanks." He broke down the word for her in syllables, "He's Hermione's half-Kneazle familiar. We used one of your ribbon ties that I carry about for you to track you down. Though it took abysmally long and by the time we had an idea where you were, Ominis and Draco found Hobhouse up in Surrey. Draco left Ominis to inform us where you were located when he realized we were already heading into the Forbidden Forest, and about had a proper fit for not waiting for him. I suspect its because he didn't want Hermione going in there at all that he eventually stayed with us."
Séraphine rolled her eyes, "He needs to confess to her that he's in love with her rather than being an utter connard to her, every opportunity he gets."
"It's because he loves her that he wants to protect her. A sentiment I share." He mused, gazing down at her with obvious affection. It caused her cheeks to redden as she looked away which made him smile. "After we found you, I'm assuming Draco went to go tell Ominis who's likely making Hobhouse wish he was never born."
She nodded, "I know you were busy looking for me, but what ever happened with Umbridge and Harry?"
"Ah. I caught wind of what happened." Sebastian grimaced, "There was a scuffle and Dumbledore escaped Hogwarts."
"Escaped?"
He nodded, "Resisting arrest, though I'm not sure what charges they wanted to bring him in with." He shrugged his shoulders, shifting his weight for her to lay her head against his collarbone while he rested his chin lightly on top of her head, "I'm sure tomorrow is going to be very interesting."
Séraphine blinked, "Why's that?"
Sebastian's chest rumbled with quiet laughter, though his tone was far from amused. "Because if Dumbledore is gone, who do you think will become the next Head of Hogwarts?"
Ah.
Putain.
The New Headmaster
Classes were cancelled for the day as a grand breakfast spread was laid out on the table. Séraphine sat next to Luna, chatting animatedly about her ideas for the potion brew once Draco delivered the Acromantula Venom to her.
Without any warning, Umbridge stood up from the staff's table and walked over to the podium, holding out a parchment. "By Order of the Ministry of Magic: Dolores Jane Umbridge will replace Albus Dumbledore as Head of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." A smug look fell on her face. "My first act as your new Headmistress is to solidify the Inquisitorial Squad's standing in the schoolhouse. Before it was more of a volunteer committee, but now led by Draco Malfoy, they will report directly to me about the goings on in the halls of this school."
There were a few cheers from the Slytherin table, clapping Draco on the back. He paid them no mind, biting into a piece of bacon angrily. Sebastian and Ominis were on either side of him, both wearing smiles full of dread and mirth.
The Headmaster continued, "Furthermore, our good caretaker, Mr. Filch has requested we reinstate the 'old punishments." I have decided that there is no reason we shouldn't."
