SLAP

Pain seared up her left cheek and Séraphine was starting to get tired of these stinging slaps. "Chienne." She hissed.

Idly, she could hear Sirius and Harry whispering harshly back and forth from the spot near them.

"Now listen, I want you to take the others and run. I can take it from here." Sirius' voice was kind, but adamant.

Harry, argumentative at the wrong times, continued to do just that. "No, I want to stay here and help!"

"You've done beautifully-" He was cut off as an explosion went off right next to both parties.

Catherine was distracted, looking to yell at whoever sent that stray explosion. Séraphine used this opportunity to point her wand towards Catherine,

"Petrificus Totalus."

Her body went stiff, which Séraphine coaxed to fall forward at an angle with a control spell. The witch's body fell directly into through the shimmering veil. Almost immediately the magic that was holding both her and Sebastian tightly against the wall died out.

Relief swam in both their eyes as they gauged each other's wounds. A new voice echoed from the stone archway, one Sebastian and Séraphine felt a grim sort of satisfaction for.

It was Catherine's dying scream.

The witch was finally dead.

The Battle at the Department of Ministries: Part Two

Things had begun to heat up after Séraphine and Sebastian met on the outer edge of the inner circle. Lucius pointed his wand at Sirius and Harry, sending a nasty little curse their way that would burn their bodies from the inside out. Sirius blocked it while Harry kept sending numerous disarming charms over Sirius' shoulder.

The Godfather glared heatedly at Lucius, sending his own knock back jinxes and hexes his way. The other Aurors were busy trying to keep the students safe while Bellatrix's maniacal laughter could be heard across the room.

"Expelliarmus!" Harry shouted, disarming Lucius before he could recover.

Sirius grinned, and yelled in a boisterous voice. "Nice one, James!"

Shock spread across Harry's face as he froze... Not knowing how to react to the praise. Séraphine could see the flurry of emotions pass across his face, but this wasn't the time to get sentimental. Non. They had a battle to win.

While Harry was still recovering, Sirius finished the job at sending a stinging hex to Lucius' hands. He dropped the back up wand he'd found, likely from one of the dead Death Eaters nearby. Not waiting for him to think of another plan, Sirius pointed his wand at the helpless Lucius who looked absolutely terrified.

"No-Please," He begged, "I have a son. A wife."

Harry snapped out of it, his face contorting in rage. "What about my parents?! My father was murdered first by Voldemort. He also had a wife and son."

Séraphine squinted, noticing that Lucius' eyes would flicker every so often to his left towards the darkness. A prideful man like Lucius begging for his life? For his Wife and Son he'd continuously put in difficult positions? The French witch glanced over to see Bellatrix raising her wand towards Sirius.
