She was covered in his blood by the time he was placed on a gurney and rushed down a mostly empty hallway. Séraphine shakily stood up, looking after his retreating figure helplessly.

It was their first date.

They'd spent the day together.

They were supposed to watch the sunrise together.

Instead a Dark wizard with Merlin knows what sort of intentions ambushed them. They'd both gotten hurt, but Sebastian was the one to keep his cool and take care of her while she'd been a bumbling fool from the wine. Sebastian was the one who was unconscious after having done everything to make sure she was safe from harm.

Séraphine took a step forward. Her limbs were beginning to feel weightless. In a last ditch effort, she grabbed a piece of paper from the nurses station, and ignored their sharp disapproval. She whispered into it, using the last bit of energy she had left to magically fold the paper into an origami bird and send it flying to Hogwarts. She needed her level headed friend now more than ever. Because she wasn't going to be conscious for much longer and he needed to know what had happened.

The bird flew from her hands as her vision went black.

Officially Declared Dead

"I'm going to kill them."

"That's not very nice."

"I'm going to put them both in cushioned rooms for the rest of their lives."

"That sounds comfortable. They could sleep anywhere."

"I'm going to cast a binding charm so they're never more than ten feet away from me."

"That may get awkward when you finally work up the courage to kiss me."

The banter went back and forth with Séraphine groggily recognizing the male voice right away. Ominis. It took her a few moments to realize the other feminine airy voice belonged to Luna Lovegood.

Another sound she recognized was a heart monitor as it began to sound fast paced alarms as memories from the night before ran behind her closed eyelids.

Dark Wizard.

Sebastian.

Blood.

She shot up, the head rush causing her vision to blur yet again. Her voice croaked out his name. The one she longed to see. Sebastian. Ominis was to her left, standing up briskly while she coughed. Luna murmured something about there being a pitcher of water and cups by the door.

"Where is he?" Séraphine demanded, glancing around the room. There was a curtain behind Ominis, shielding her view of the door and how large the room truly was. Luna had walked past the curtain to retrieve something; likely a cup of water for her. The large window to her right about ten feet away was curtained off, but light was streaming through a small crack in the blackened navy curtains.

Ominis wrinkled his nose, "If the 'he' you're referring to is the bloody idiot behind curtain number one—" he waved his hand behind him causing the curtains to flit to one end. It revealed a sleepy, drugged Sebastian on another hospital bed, who wore a white and blue hospital gown, and had the thin hospital sheets pulled up to his hips. His head was turned towards her and he blinked slowly as if just waking up. "—Then he's fine besides having lost too much blood. At least it weren't brain cells, he can't afford to lose any more."
