"I thought you wanted to put an end to the Gaunt line?" Sebastian asked sourly, his eyes scanning over each of Ominis' tell tale signs that he was lying. The subtle twitch in the corner of his bottom lip. The way he'd rub the handle of his wand in a circular pattern. "You're lying to me."

"And you're a thick headed idiot. Now that we're both stating the obvious," Ominis pointed out pleasantly, "Séraphine is going to figure out a cure without anymore use of the Dark Arts—Yes I heard you earlier, I meant to grab some parchment to write Marvolo a letter."

This piqued her interest. "Are you still arguing with him about the secret Scriptorium?"

Unfortunately, her interest wasn't the only one prevalent. Sebastian glanced between the both of them again, but this time his voice was firm and unyielding. "You both are going to take a seat and tell me everything that happened tonight. Including the part about the scriptorium."

Séraphine sighed. There was no one more stubborn than Sebastian when he wanted to learn about something. His parents were like that too, reputedly.

Merde.

She asked about WHAT?

Séraphine stared up at the small clock on the wall as she laid on her side, yawning. It was almost three in the morning. They'd been going at it for hours. On the bright side, she hoped that Catherine had waited pointlessly for hours while she was laying in Sebastian's bed. A smug feeling bloomed inside her. The down side was that nothing interesting was happening. The two wizards were bickering. Have been. For hours.

"Ominis; you know that it could house information regarding the ability to reverse Dark magic." Sebastian argued, taking a step towards his closest friend. "It could help Anne."

The other Slytherin had his arms crossed as he leaned against the wall, "It could also house extremely dangerous magic. There is nothing you wouldn't try to cure her."

"She's my sister!"

"And you're my brother!" Ominis suddenly bellowed, his cool demeanor instantly shattering. He pushed himself off the wall, fury laced in his vicious tone. "Have you thought for a moment how Séra and I would feel if something happened to you? We don't know what sorts of tricks are in the Scriptorium—It's Salazar Slytherin's personal scriptorium. These types of places so infused with Dark magic are going to have a price to enter."

"I'm willing to pay." Sebastian clenched his fists, "I can handle it."

A sarcastic smile toyed on his lips, "And what if the cost was a life? My life? Séra's life? Would you be able to make that sacrifice?"

Sebastian flinched inwardly. "You know I wouldn't make that choice."

"Do I?" Ominis growled out, "I also thought you were done with Catherine and yet you're sneaking out with her to the Restricted Section and she has the audacity to think she can approach me."

Séraphine sighed, sitting up. Now her mood was going to be negatively affected if they kept droning on about that bloody witch. "I'm leaving. I'll see you both tomorrow."

"It's late." Sebastian argued lightly, "Stay here. I can sleep on one of the couches in the common room."

An exasperated noise escaped Ominis, "Oh good we can consummate our engagement, love."
