"Babes, come fast your breakfast is ready we are getting late " Maddie shouted from the kitchen.
I recently graduated from my college and now it's been 2 years since working in fashion designing company . Maddison was my best friend from high school when I first came to New York. At that time, I was looking for a house, and my father insisted that I buy a small apartment near a school to make it easier for me but I didn't want to live alone in whole-ass apartments, so I declined that offer and decided to look for rooms with roommates like a PG.
Maddison is in my school and we are in the same class so when I got to know that she is looking for a housemate I decided to talk to her and she agreed. Long story short that's how she became my best friend and we celebrated 5 years of togetherness in her 3 bhk apartment. We both worked hard to manage this house even though our fathers sent us money every month but we decided to work as soon as we started college and now we graduated from the university . Maddie is a model who works for some big companies while I am in the design field where I make designs for the company. We both earned handsome amounts of money so there are no financial issues.
"Coming " I shouted back. I quickly put on my jeans and top and did a little makeup to look better & headed towards the table.

"Mads I told you how many times that I don't like breakfast, Why do you always make it for me? " I questioned her "I know babes but I also know that if I do not serve you then you will not eat anything & make some cheap excuse about how you forget to have lunch. That's why have breakfast so I don't have to worry that you haven't eaten anything ." She starts lecturing me on this just like my mother.
I looked at her shocked because she knew that was what exactly I was going to do. I know this is not good for my health but after that rejection, I became self-conscious and I started skipping meals Maddie noticed and confronted me about this so I told her everything that happened when I was in India. Now she makes sure that I get food in my belly every day. I am so grateful that she is my friend. "Thanks, Mads, You know I hate you right!' I told her jokingly "Yes babe I know & I love you too " She laughed This is our way of expressing love. "Ok, now eat fast, Jasy must be waiting for us " She laughed imagining his irritated face while waiting for us I laughed too.
Jason is our best friend from high school. One day, some guys were bullying Jason because he is gay At that time I & Maddie saved him from bullies and also complained to the principal about guys. That's how we became friends and now best friends. He was struggling with making friends just because he is gay and I was new and Maddie is Maddie so we completed each other and now we are there for each other every day and every time.
We reached the college and met Jason, As usual, he was standing there sulking and all irritated "Guys, why do you hate me so much?" He questioned "God, stop being over dramatic ass we're girls and we need time to get ready " Maddie reasoned "Yes Jasy and we're not that late "That's where I made a mistake
"What did you just say, You're not that late, San look at the watch you're 30 minutes late and here I am standing for you guys in this scorching heat," he said breathlessly wiping his sweat 😓 "Ok baby we are sorry," Maddie said in a baby voice He made a face which said he was still upset "Ok then what about McDonald's, our treat !" I know how to get him out of this fake anger phase. "Then I will take double cheese, double patties burger with Oreo McFlurry and fries too " Jason started making a list. We rolled our eyes at him. He uses this excuse to get free food from us because he forgets that he has to pay for dinner.
Jason and Maddie both came from wealthy families including me but we all are working. Jason is a freelance photographer. He is good at photography, he even clicked our pictures to include in his portfolio. I must say the pictures came out so good. Jason is a handsome-looking guy, So many girls try hitting on him but their bad he is gay. Now he is dating his assistant named Shawn who is a really cute guy. They look so good & happy together and I know Jason is truly happy this time.
Maddie on the other side is blonde, she has a model figure but just because she is blonde everyone in our school portrayed her as bitch without knowing her, obnoxious high students made their opinion about her. But in college, she is famous because she has everything that every guy wants in his girl. Even though she goes on dates now and then and acts all cool I know that she doesn't want this. She is just doing this to get her mind off something or someone.
About me, I am an average 20-year-old girl, I have a fair skin tone, and almond black eyes and my dark brown hair is perfectly wavy, unlike Maddie's curly hair. I tried going on dates but nothing worked out. Because of fear of rejection before anyone approached me, and rejected me. I rejected them already in my head so I didn't get hurt again. My insecurities always take a toll on me even though I started gaining confidence with the help of Maddie. I don't know why I never felt like dating as if I am still stuck somewhere or with someone and little did I know where I am stuck. But I still decided to go on dates but every time my date ditched me as they never come to the venue and as usual I sat there alone while my insecurities rushed back to me. So I just gave up
