She looked at her family who came to say goodbye to her as she was leaving for New York to study. After being rejected by Ahaan , she promised herself to only focus on her studies so she flew to New York to get away from her old life and start her new life but little did she know she had to come back and face him.
"Guys stop crying, You guys are making it more difficult for me to leave " she begged her family who were crying including her Badepapa's family. Everybody loves her a lot, for them, she is like a little girl who can't go out without Shiv on her side because she has been always this protected, and everyone still thinks she is the child. But now she wants to face the world and wants to experience it without any protection from her family. She is 16 years old and now she leaving for high school studies and then she will do her college & masters there only.
Everyone hugged her tightly including her grandparents.
"Take care, my princess, " Her father said to her, his voice cracking, she hugged him tightly "I will my superhero I love you ". Her words made him smile in tears.
"Eat properly OK mera baccha (my child) " her mother told her as she knew her daughter was not eating properly and she was avoiding food.
"Yes, Mom I know & I love you "Her mother started crying and hugged her and kissed her cheeks.
Her sisters also cried and hugged her and gave her some protection tips to protect herself from creeps. They know how soft-hearted she is and anyone could use her for their benefit.
She smiled at her sister's protectiveness & nodded at every word though she & everybody knew she was going to forget it as soon as she got on the plane.
"Sanu, I'll come to see you from time to time, " Shiv said to her sister.
She smiled at him and they both hugged each other and he kissed her forehead.
After bidding goodbye to everyone, she sat on her seat and smiled looking forward to her future.
Her mind goes back to Ahaan Jain, she feels relieved as he is not there at the airport. Ahaan & his family were not at the airport because they were not in town at that time, nobody knew that Sanjana was leaving for studies, she strictly told her family not to tell them as there were two reasons behind it 1) She didn't want to hurt Uncle Anil, he always treated her like their own daughter, so she doesn't want to see them in tears & 2) The main reason is she doesn't want to give Ahaan a satisfaction that because of him she is leaving which is not true, she was leaving to make her future. Little in her head she knows she doesn't want to face Ahaan after that incident.
The thing is that as Sanjana & Ahaan had been neighbours for years both of their fathers became best friends with each other and their mothers too. At every event or function, both of them invite each other's family first and then proceed to the other's invitation. They are more like family than friends. That's how Shiv and Ahaan also became best friends. And that's how Sanjana got a crush on him.
Mehta is living in a joint family and there's so much love between both brothers Ashok & Harsh.& On the other side, Anil Jain is always been a single child so he had no big family. After being neighbours with Mehta's, he realised how much he was missing. And instantly 3 they clicked and their friendship is going strong after years.
Ahaan Jain is a very difficult child, he was always been rude and arrogant and cold towards others except his family and Mehta's family . He always says things he doesn't like on everyone's face. But he always respects elders. He loves his grandmother the most.
But the person he hates the most is Sanjana Mehta. He watches how she never talks to anyone and the last time he saw her talking to a waiter in a very rude way after that he made her opinion about how rude she is but the reality was different. He always gets this itched when he sees her innocent face, he always feels like she is acting all innocent just to get attention. For him, she is an attention seeker.
Ahaan's best friend is Shiv they are of the same age. He hates how highly her brother speaks of her. He just hates everything about her because even his parents give her more attention than him.
As they both grew up, Ahaan became more and more handsome. He becomes the heartthrob of the school, starts dating beautiful girls and he has the image of a hot bad boy.
On the other hand, Sanjana was facing glow down, she got pimples all over her face, her weight was going up, and she was facing problems in making friends as her parents put her in the same school where her brother & Ahaan go.
Everyone started bullying her for her looks but she ignored them and nobody knows about the bullying. She got to see Ahaan every day so she was not complaining. Sometimes it got hard for her to handle bullying Even though it was verbal still it hurt.
Sanjana had a crush on Ahaan from 5th grade at the same time he started hating her. After so many years of crushing on him, she finally decided to confess her love to him before he left for college. After her last exam in 10th grade, she collected her courage and went to him, She was lucky that her brother was not in school at that time. She saw Ahaan sitting with some boys in his class, they were all chatting & laughing at something some guy was saying
She enters his class and makes her presence known
All eyes are now on her, she started feeling uncomfortable but she brushed it off
Ahaan came up to her and asked in his smooth deep threatening voice
"What are you doing here ?"
She felt that she should not confess but as always she decided to do otherwise
" I...I rea... like....like y...ou" She stuttered while confessing her love to him in front of his friends
He laughed at her" Aww bambina got a crush on me . But did you look at yourself in the mirror, how can you expect me to date a girl like you. You're ugly, fat & all pimply and I have standards " his friends are laughing at her
He always called her bambina in his Italian accent , everybody knows that Ahaan can speak 7 different languages. She always thought "Wow he gave me a nickname". She was always like this she always turned nothing into something. But It was true, only Ahaan called her bambina it was his nickname for her. Everyone always asked his & her family "Why do you call her Bambina" Her name was Sanjana and everybody gave her a nickname related to her name but Bambina was different. Ahaan always answered same," it means young girl" even though it had a simple meaning, Sanjana always felt special hearing her nickname from Ahaan
But now this nickname has become like a nightmare to her. Now she was getting things that how dumb she was to think he was into her he hated her. She started getting flashbacks that how he used to mock her and showed his dislike towards her but she was the dumb fellow who thought that he was also in love with her. But now she gets the reality check and she make sure not to make this mistake again.
She cried the whole night feeling insecure about her body and face. Her whole confidence was shattered by just a few words from him. Her childhood crush for 5 years not only broke her heart but also broke so many things inside her. Even though she had been bullied verbally she was still confident & never told herself that she was ugly but after Ahaan's words she lost it. She lost all her confidence and decided to study harder so she could move out of this country to become a better version of herself and learn self-love.
