Chapter 11. Busted
Adam arrived shortly and my body was still acting weird. I didn’t want to seem like I had lost control since Joanne and Sam were giving Adam a taste of his own medicine. I still felt guilty for doing this. It seemed a little too big for something Adam did that wasn’t so big.
When Mandy arrived she hugged me and kissed my cheeks as she always did. Andrew had obviously wriggled out of this one but mum seemed happy that Mandy had arrived. Adam looked quite uncomfortable when he arrived. “Is something wrong?” I asked. Folding my arms. Adam was looking up and down the street. “I was just making sure that no one from school saw me come into your house.” He said. I had to bite my lip to either stop myself crying or stop myself punching him. “Well you will be glad to know that none of the popular people live on this street. They all live in your neighbourhood.” I said.
Adam stepped into the door and threw his arm around me. I felt dizzy again and felt even worse for what we were going to do. “I love you.” He whispered. When he said this I forgot about everything bad he had done and kissed him.
When Adam had gone into the kitchen I ran upstairs to my room. “I don’t think we should do this.” I breathed. Opening the door and shocking both of them. They looked disappointed in me. “No we are not backing down, whatever hold HE has over you is about to go forever.” Sam said. He spat HE out like it tasted off.
“But you guys Adam is really nice.” I tried to say but they were being stubborn so they weren’t going to back down. I sighed and went back down to Adam. I heard Sam shout. “Plan starts in five minutes bring him up.” I was worried. Maybe if I spent the night with Adam downstairs then the prank wouldn’t happen. But would Sam and Joanne still be my friends. Is Adam really worth it?
I spent some time talking to Adam who apologised for everything. We sat in the living room and ignored Sam’s calls. “I’m just going toilet.” Adam said. He walked up the stairs and I heard screaming.
“What have you done?” I asked. Throwing open my bedroom door.
Adam was tied up on my bed. I ran over to Adam but Sam stopped me. “He is getting his medicine, everything that they did to you today, Adam is going to get.” Sam looked evil. He had a look in his eye and Joanne wasn’t going to stop him. “Joanne grab Amy while I deal with Adam.” He said. Joanne held me as I tried to wriggle free. “Joanne please don’t let this happen. Adam is a lovely person. I will be in deep trouble when my mum and his mum find out.” I pleaded. I felt so guilty and Adam was wriggling around angrily.
“You haven’t told your mum?” Joanne asked.
“No and I wasn’t planning on it either, please don’t say anything Joanne”. I begged her. I really didn’t want her to tell because Mandy is mum’s new friend and she thinks me and Adam get on well. I didn’t want to ruin mum’s life, she didn’t deserve it and plus she had been a lot happier lately.
Joanne didn’t say anything she just watched as Sam poured flour over Adam who was still tied up. “Sam what are you doing?” I asked. Even though I knew what I meant was why.
“I am giving Adam what he deserves, exactly what them girls did to you at school today Adam is getting the same.” I couldn’t believe this I was embarrassed and a little scared what mum and Mandy would say. “Sam you have to stop this, what is my mum and Adam’s mum going to say?” I was getting mad at him now. He was my best friend but he had no right to do this. I could have just spoken to Adam and solved it easier. No need for (payback) or whatever Sam was going to do.
“Sam you need to stop this ok before anything...Bad...Happe.” I stopped as my mum walked in. “What in god’s name is going on?” she looked so shocked and angry. Busted.
Mum untied Adam and stood with her hands on her hips. “Is anyone going to explain?” She asked. We were all silent. I didn’t know what to do or say. “We were just... Urm playing.” Sam said. He was stood by the door ready to run. Joanne grabbed him. “I see.” Mum said though she didn’t look convinced or impressed. “Adam go get in the shower then downstairs to your mum, Joanne. Sam go home and Amy you are in deep trouble, Mandy told me you ran off earlier so I think you and I need to have a chat.”
