Chapter 4.A day out with Adam

When we got home my mum sat at the TV not really watching it. I walked upstairs to my room. My sister caught me on the way up.

' So how did it go'. She asked smiling when I suddenly grinned remembering the kiss. I could still feel it. It was warm and soft.

' It was great'. I smiled. Her face suddenly lit up

' OK, tell me everything’. She said dragging me upstairs. I just sighed.

' He showed me his house we talked and kissed'. I said getting my pyjamas on. ' You kissed'. She spluttered. ' Tell me what kind of kiss'. She asked. I really didn't want to talk about it seeing as it was nothing to do with her. ' It was nothing really just a little kiss'. I lied. She didn't seem convinced. She left me alone, which is what I wanted.

It wasn't really late, only ten O clock. Yet I felt so tired. I think Adam took away my strength in the kiss. I couldn't stop thinking about it and how tingly I felt. I got my phone out and text Adam.

A few minutes later I got a text back

Yeah it was great lets meet up again Xx

It felt so nice to know that he felt the same way I did. I just hoped the next time we met up it wouldn't be awkward. I laid down trying to go sleep but I was too happy to sleep. I was excited about the next time we met up. I wanted to know when we would meet. I just hoped it wasn't too long. I sighed at myself, what I had turned into. I meet one boy over the summer and suddenly go all crazy thinking things like when will we meet. It was stupid and pathetic. But it felt so amazing.

The next morning I walked downstairs to the kitchen. My mum was sat at the table. ' What you doing'. I asked.

' Sorting out the books for the next club, I have till 12 to find something'. She said typing on her laptop.

' Why not ask Mandy what kind of books she likes, and ask the others'. I suggested. Her face lit up. She stood up and walked to the phone. ' Thanks Amy that's a great idea'. She said tapping in Mandy's phone number. ' Hey Mandy. 'How are you?' she said walking into the living room. I made myself a drink and sat at the table. ' Don’t touch the laptop'. My mum shouted from the living room.

After five minutes my mum came in the kitchen to me and said.

‘It’s sorted'.

' So what book you going to read'. I asked.

' Well Mandy has invited the whole book club over for her yoga class today at twelve. We will do yoga for a couple of hours, then have a coffee, tea and discuss book club. Oh yeah please don't go out' .she said. I was confused.

' Why'. I asked

' Because I said so, please just listen to me. You will like it'. She smiled. I just nodded.

' I’m going to get ready for the book club'. She walked up the stairs.

I went into the living room and switched the TV on. My sister came into the room with her new boyfriend. He looked about my age, short dark hair and green eyes. ' This is Darren'. She said. Darren just stood by the door awkwardly. ' Come sit down'. Sophie said sitting on the other sofa. I just put music on in the background. ' Won’t your mum go mad'. Darren asked when they stopped kissing. ' No she won't don't worry'. Sophie said. My mum came into the living room. ' I'm ready to go'. She stopped when she saw Darren. ' Mum this is my boyfriend Darren'. Darren stood up to shake my mum's hand. ' Anyway you kids enjoy yourselves'. She said going out the door. ' Me and Darren are going out somewhere'. She said. Walking out the room. Darren followed mumbling goodbye at me. I sighed. Today would be boring. Why did I have to stay in the house? My mum felt so strong about it. I walked into the kitchen making another tea. I took a sandwich out of the fridge. The door knocked. Maybe it was my mum come back because she forgot something. I opened the door. Adam stood there smiling at me. ' Hi Amy, I got a surprise for you'. He said stepping in the door. I closed it behind him. ' So what are you doing here?'. I asked
