the house. We didn’t even know some of them. They were already mildly drunk. I went to my room Adam followed. I was crying in Adam’s arms. ‘Look at the house; it is getting out of hand’. I cried. Adam just rubbed my back. ‘I know I know, lets find my mum’. He said. I nodded standing up. I walked out of my room and into my mum’s room. Two people were kissing on the bed. I started crying again running out. Adam walked in and told them to get out. They quickly grabbed their clothes running out. I giggled a little.
We searched the house for Mandy. She wasn’t anywhere upstairs. Or downstairs. We checked in the garden. She was sat on the grass with a bottle of wine beside her. She was holding a glass of it. But spilling it down her. ‘Mum, you have to help us’. Adam tugged on her. She frowned.
‘Hey leave me alone. Go and have fun’. She slurred. We sighed and left her.
‘What are we going to do?’ I asked. It was starting to get dark now. The sky was full of pink and orange, the clouds were turning blue.
‘I will ring my dad’. He said getting his phone out. He dialled the number and waited. ‘Hello dad, yes it is Adam’. He answered. I couldn’t hear what Andrew was saying but after the call Adam said.
‘My dad is on his way’. I breathed a sigh of relief. The party was still going. People were drinking. The house smelt like drink. I was shooing people out of my room and my mum and sister’s room.
Andrew turned up half an hour later. ‘What’s up?’ he asked getting out his car.
‘My mum threw a party for our last day of summer, but they both got drunk and now the party is out of hand’. I explained. He nodded.
‘Have you called the police?’ he asked.
‘No’. I said.
He walked into the house and turned the music off. Everyone started shouting. Adam quickly dialled the police. ‘Hello, a party got out of hand, people are fighting and my dad is in there’. He said. He hung up when he told them my address.
‘Hey what’s up granddad’. I heard someone say.
‘Granddad, I am 33 years old’. Andrew said. We heard smashing and shouting. I ran inside. My mum was still asleep. Mandy was nowhere to be seen again. Andrew found her in my mum’s bed and carried her to the car. He carried my mum into her room. She started snoring immediately.
Ten minutes later the police arrived. Everyone charged out of the house. Leaving their mess. Andrew helped me clean up with Adam.
Sophie also arrived a few minutes after. ‘Where have you been’? I shouted. She backed away. ‘Have you any idea what happened tonight, the house is trashed’. I shouted. Then it all clicked together.
‘You invited these people didn’t you?’ I demanded. Andrew put a hand on my shoulder. ‘Calm down, I will talk to Sophie’. He said. I helped Adam clean up. Andrew took Sophie in the living room.
‘I can’t believe she invited all of her college friends, then she didn’t even control them’. I cried. Adam put his arm around me.
‘Ssh, you don’t know that’. He whispered. I shook my head hard.
‘Yes I do, where else would these people of come from’? I said.
He sighed and held my hand. ‘Don’t worry’. He said. We cleaned up the house.
I made Andrew and Adam a coffee before they left. We were arranging where we would be meeting tomorrow. In the end Andrew would pick me up from my house. With mum and Mandy, we would then go into school. I was so nervous. I couldn’t tell Adam my secret; he would avoid me and hate me. Everyone did so why would he be different.
