' Good morning Amy'. My mum said when I came downstairs.
' Morning'. I yawned. She smiled at me and said. ' So how was yesterday'. She asked. I sat down and she made me a drink.
' It was great, we had dinner then he showed me this place with mountains and a lake and cabin'. I said remembering yesterday. That was the most amazing day I have ever had. I liked Adam as way more than a friend and the best part was. He liked me exactly the same as I liked him.
' You know what day it is don't you'. My mum asked me
' No not really, it is book club day. Will I see Adam?' I asked.
She shook her head at me my heart sank. I felt like I had just been hit hard. ' No Adam is helping his dad with something'. She said.
' No you are going out with your dad today he is picking you up at one'. She said. I looked at the time it was only half eleven.
' OK, is Sophie coming with us'. I asked. Sipping my tea.
' What do you think?' she asked giving me a look. I just said 'oh' and went into the living room. My phone beeped.
It was a text
Sorry I can't see you today, had a great night yesterday. Xx
I am glad he text me it makes me feel better. I wish I could spend the day with him again. That was a little mean of me. I hardly ever went out with my dad, it was when he felt like it which is why my sister gave up on him. But I'm more understanding than that. My dad has a new girlfriend new life. He doesn't have a lot of time for us. I still wish I could go out with Adam instead. I wanted to be inside his cabin again it was so nice cosy and comfortable. I can't believe how comfortable I was with Adam. It was like he made my world spin.
I watched TV for about an hour. Sophie came through the door with a bag of clothes no doubt. ' Hi I'm home'. She shouted coming through the door. She came into the living room.
' Hey Amy how was yesterday?' she asked sitting down and going through her bags. ' You was in on it as well?' I asked her. She nodded me and handed me a bag. It had a silver beaded necklace and matching bracelet and a bag of sweets.
' Yes I was, mum told me yesterday morning'. She said.
' Oh, thanks for this'. I lifted the bag up.
' So your going out with dad'. She asked me putting more lip gloss on. She handed me the lip gloss I shook my head.
' Yeah I am, aren't you coming?' I asked.
' Nope, I'm going out with Darren'. She smiled. I didn't know what she liked about him. He seemed so boring. I bet she doesn't even care. If he is half rich he is in.
' Well have fun with dad'. She said when Darren beeped his car.
' Bye mum'. She shouted going out the door.
I just sat watching TV my mum was in the kitchen on her laptop. After a while I got dressed. Casually. White strap top. Black cardigan and denim skirt with black tights. I wore my new bracelet and necklace. ' You look nice'. My mum finally came into the living room to me. ' Thanks'. I said sitting back on the sofa waiting for dad. ' What time is your book club?' I asked
' It starts when you go'. She said.
' Have you decided what book you are reading?' I asked
' No we are going to ask everyone what they want to read' she said nibbling her toast.
It was half one. My dad had just knocked on the door. He hugged me. They had an awkward conversation while I was getting ready. Dad told mum about his new girlfriend my mum just said. Good for you. In a bitter tone. ' Hey Amy are you ready?' he asked I nodded. We walked out of the door.
