Chapter 13. Starting to get better
The next morning mum had asked me if I had wanted the day off school while she spoke to the head teacher. I said no of course, I wanted the day off but I wasn’t going to wimp out of this. I needed to deal with it calmly.
Mum got the bus with me to school. She went into the reception whilst I walked straight into my tutor room. Adam looked at me smiling. He pulled out a seat for me. “Don’t you dare take that seat?” Laurie said. She folded her arms whilst her friends were laughing behind her. I looked at Adam for help but he was talking to our tutor. I took a seat at the back of the class. Laurie took a seat next to me.
“You better stay away from Adam or else?” She was right in my face. I just sighed. “Did I make myself clear?” she yelled. I nodded and she went to sit with her other friends still eyeing me up. I was so angry and upset with Adam. I had thought that Mandy would have had a word with him but obviously not.
In my second lesson I got called to the office. Mrs Lady asked me to take a seat. As I walked around the door my heart was beating scared. Laurie and her friends were there so were Adam and Sam. I had made a list of everyone who had bullied me. Everyone I had listed was sat in that room so when I walked in they all stared at me hating.
“I hear from your mum Amy that you are having a little trouble.” She looked at everyone crossly. “Is that true?” she asked. I nodded feeling the sweat build up on my forehead. I could hear the crowd mutter and everyone started laughing. “Silence.” Mr Lady hissed.
“Would you like to tell me what has been happening?” she asked. I shook my head nervous. I wasn’t going to say anything in front of them. Mrs Lady seemed to understand. “Would you like to write down everything that has happened to you?” I nodded. Mrs Lady handed me paper and a pen as I listed everything from spitting gum in my hair to pouring flour over me and spitting, kicking and threatening. At the side of the crime I listed who was mainly responsible. When I had finished I handed Mrs Lady my paper. She put her glasses on and read. When she had finished she looked angry. “I am going to phone all of your parents in right away.” She picked up her phone and started dialling everyone’s number.
About ten minutes later Mrs Lady was reading out my list to everyone who had bullied me’s parents. I cringed as she did and when she had finished the parents looked so shocked and surprised. This made me think that I bet they didn’t act like this at home.
“I have been thinking of a punishment for you all.” Mrs Lady strolled across the room looking at us all.
“The only reasonable decision I have come up with is to hold you all back a year and expel you till then. That way Amy, Sam and Adam will do their best in their exams.” There were mutters around the room.
“Has anyone got any questions?” she asked. Everyone emerged from the room giving me evil looks.
I had a feeling my life was going to get a lot better
