Chapter 6.Sam meet Adam. No you can't kill each other

' Hi Lynn how are you? That's great are you coming to book club tomorrow'? She asked

I sulked back in the living room. Sam had rang me now my mum had the phone. She knew it was the first time I spoke to him in a while. She could speak to Lynn any time. I switched the TV on . I just switched to a random cartoon.

' Guess what'? My mum said coming in the room.

' What'. I asked. Annoyed at her for taking the phone.

' Lynn wants to come round to see us and she says they have presents'. Mum bounced onto the sofa smiling. I smiled back trying to still look annoyed but I was excited and happy.

' When are they coming'? I asked. Mum looked at her watch.

' In about half an hour'. She said. I went upstairs to get dressed since when I got home I had put my pj's on.

I changed into my baggy jeans and hoodie. Mum was on her laptop. ' What are you doing'? I asked.

' Mandy and Adam are also coming round, Mandy wants to tell Lynn what book we are reading'. She said typing again.

I was excited and nervous. I wanted Adam and Sam to get on well, but I knew Sam would be awkward with Adam because Sam is my best friend and very protective over me. Adam would be happy to see me. I think I like it best when I have me and Adam together and me and Sam separate. Sam was arriving first which was quite good. Mandy wanted us to see them for a while before she and Adam came, she said she will come an hour and half after Lynn and Sam arrive. It was now 7:15 Sam was going to be here any minute . So I went into my room and picked up my book I had been reading.

I could hear everyone downstairs. Lynn was hugging mum Sam was asking about me. Everyone was happy and laughing. I could hear mum lead them into the kitchen. ' Amy, Sam is here'. She shouted up the stairs. ' OK, can he come up'? I asked shouting back. ' No just come down, Mandy and Adam will be here in a minute'. She shouted then she went in the kitchen, I heard Lynn ask mum who Adam was. My boyfriend, I knew Sam would probably be annoyed at this. So I went downstairs and into the kitchen. ' Hello darling'. Lynn sang hugging me. I smiled at her and eventually she released me. ' How was your summer'? She asked.

' It was OK'. I said shrugging.

Sam was by the back door looking awkwardly. I went up to him.

' Hello Sam'. I said hugging him. He obviously hugged me back.

' Hi Amy, how have you been'? He asked. I nodded and he nodded knowing what I meant.' so you have a boyfriend'. He said this in a bitter voice. Like he spat the words out because they tasted horrible. I nodded again. He thought for a minute. ' Is that who is coming round'? He asked. ' Yes'. I said. 'Can we go somewhere more private'? He asked. I asked mum and she said

Yes. We went upstairs. He started to sound like his self again smiling and joking around. He grabbed me and hugged me properly. ' I missed you'. He said smiling again and releasing me. We got to my room and Sam gave me a bag.

' I missed you too'. I said smiling at him.

I opened the bag and three presents were wrapped up in Christmas paper very messy. I laughed at this. Sam frowned. At the side of the presents were three pieces of rock. ' Thanks'. I smiled. ' Unwrap them then'. Sam nodded towards the presents. I took the one on top first. It was the smallest present and the paper was silver and blue with snowmen on them. I unwrapped it and threw the paper away. It was a little gold teddy bear with darker gold ears and a little pink ribbon round its neck. It was holding a big red heart that said best friend in silver.
