Bear offered food to Dragon who took it smiling at his grumpy face. "You Dragons and your romantic stories, I swear half of them are like that. Full of sappy crap."
"It's our history Bear. It is full of love and war just like life is. One day someone will point at me in the sky and tell of Rat, Bear and Dragon. Ahhh but what adventures are awaiting us. It's exciting."
Bear sat back down picking up his cup and taking a long sip as Dragon talked. "And how does that story go huh? Bear, Rat and Dragon decided to do something dumb, getting themselves killed in the process."
"Aren't we sure of our impending doom." Dragon said chuckling.
"I'm just saying it as I see it, as you would say." Bear said waving his hand at us.
I sighed shaking my head at both them. "I see us taking steps towards being able to have someone to pass those stories on to. As it stands Bear our people are spread to the four winds. We need to do something or those stories will never be told."
Dragon nodded and Bear sighed looking grumpy. "There are things in the world Bear, that you have never seen. You have stayed back all these years and never looked further than the cold months." Dragon's words seemed to be ones he had said to Bear before.
Bear nodded in time to the words and then rolled his eyes. "Well, maybe I'm just fine with living in a small world."
"And yet here you are. There are caves all around us Bear you don't need to follow us."
Bear stood angrily pointing at Dragon. "And if I did go, who would stop you from leading Rat to her death?"
I know this is a bad idea. I thought as I raised my hand making Bear turn his angry look on me. "Rat would." I said. Bear threw his arms up at us and went into the tent grumbling at us.
"I should..."
Dragon laid a hand on my arm and shook his head. "Leave him Rat. His anger comes from some other time."
"I assume he blames you for something." Dragon nodded watching the tent seemingly unwilling to tell me that story.
Feeling his reluctance I stood gathering the other cups and pouring myself another warm drink. "Well I don't plan on being in any fight's so I doubt I will be hurt."
Dragon turned a very hard stare my way. His eyes seemed to bore into my soul and they looked exactly like they did when he morphed. They looked reptilian and full of something I couldn't understand making them terrifying.
"The world bleeds for the one that sits on top of it! Life drains into the soil and bodies become fuel for the underbrush. Pain and suffering screeching to the sky the fire burns the world to dust..." Dragon stood and I backed away from him dropping my cup and falling to the floor in an effort to get away.
