We reached the clearing and I saw two of the three birds with me. "Your back. Did you get everything we needed?" I smiled.

The driver asked the bird. "Are you a beast person too?"

The bird gave me a wide-eyed stare. "A certain Spider told them about a man with amber eyes and we were attacked on the road. I have offered their town protection in exchange for trade."

The bird breathed out heavily. "This is your escapade Dragon, you will do as you wish. I will tell the others."

The bird took two steps back then changed into a vulture flapped once and flew up to the sky. The humans were staring at the bird as they disappeared from view. "They called you Dragon?" The driver asked and I smiled at him.

"We beasts call each other by our beast name. Our human names are dangerous to say sometimes. We have to use them in towns but most of the time it's safer if we just don't know the real names of the others around us."

He nodded. "So if someone asks if you know them, you don't need to lie."

I smiled nodding. "Come on let's unload."

The scared guard stopped me with a hand on my arm. "You can fly?"

"I can."

He smiled looking up at the sky. "I've always wanted to fly."

"I will take you up there one day."

The human smiled and let his hand drop. "I would like that."

We made short work of the things in the cart. When we were done the birds flew down. I loaded the box and turned to the vulture. "Will you escort these men back to the town?" He nodded and flew back up into the air. "I will see you tomorrow with the mayor. Tell him I wish to speak with him on behalf of my group."

The driver nodded. "I will. Thank you, Dragon."

He bowed and the other two guards did the same. I bowed to them. "Thank you for not attacking us. I will see you tomorrow."

I morphed and grabbed the box. I stretched my wings out. One great flap of my wings took me up into the air. I turned in the air with one of my escorts to the pull of my hoard.

It drew me like an arrow to the place Reina was. The ground blurred below me as I sped home. My escort turned back halfway, unable to keep up with me anymore. Meadows and plains passed by in a blur. Soon enough the village came into view.

I did my slow spiral down to the ground. I landed next to the box, smiling as I became human again. People worked on the houses and shook out cloth. My smile faltered slightly at the team cleaning the blood off the cobbles. "Dragon!" I spun at the sound of my name.

There behind me was Kyros. His arms were crossed over his chest but he was smiling at me. "Bear what the hell are you doing here?" I asked as I hugged him.
