The new arrivals were starving and sick. Ariaddney could have helped these people! I had to send Hawk to that town above Keld to buy ore and some smith's tools. Now I have a forge and I've made ten axes to chop wood for making waggons and I have two waggon writes. Who knew spiders liked working with wood?

"Bear... I need Hawk to fly to the others."

I sighed at the interruption of my thoughts. "Why?" I asked turning to Eric.

"They have my supplies of medicine and these people are getting sicker. We need to help these people before they get worse."

"We have been through this Giraffe. We know a direction but not where they are, so it could take days to find them. We will buy what we can!" I said growling.

"The things I need are more than the towns we have been to have stock of." He laid a hand on my arm and my anger cooled.

I looked in his face. "Make a list and I will send a Spider."

He smiled and offered me a rolled paper. "It's quite the list."

I took it and waved over one of the runners. He came over and I waved the paper at him. "Go town to town until you find these."

He ran off and I looked at the anvil in front of me. "Is there something more you need Giraffe?"

Eric leaned in slightly and whispered. "Your tired Bear. You will need to sleep soon."

I nodded and looked at the stack of work I had to do. Axes, swords, waggon wheels, nails... the list is endless. "There's a never-ending amount of work and I'm the only one with smithy experience."

Eric sighed patting my shoulder. "Start training someone. I'm sure someone half-trained can make nails."

I nodded and looked over the group of people in the cavern "I will have a nap. Will you find me a group of trainees?" Eric smiled and walked off content with his task.

Watching them for a short while distracted my mind enough to not hear Wolf walk up behind me. "What could you be thinking about so hard I could creep up on you?"

I looked at him and sighed. "I'm tired.. and hungry."

Wolf nodded looking over the people too. "The winter is fast approaching us. The leaves are turning and the pickings are becoming scarce. If we stay here we will need much more than we can gather locally."

I waved over another runner. "All we can do is reduce our numbers and hope we can gather enough to last us." The runner stopped near me and I sighed. "Find Dragon or Tiger. Tell them we must send them some of these people or we will suffer. Explain to them that the local pickings are getting scarce and the towns we can reach are not selling to us anymore."

The runner left and I yawned. "Maybe you should be on one of those carts." Wolf said.

"No... Not this group but probably the next. I need to be out of here before long or risk falling asleep until spring."
