Episode 13: Battle Aboard The SS Anne

Ash and the group board the St. Anne and Misty also catches a Goldeen. One the boat they are invited to a party but Jesse James and Meowth are there to steal Pokémon. Ash trades Butterfree with a Raticate. Ash runs into Gary and the two have their first official battle which ends with Gary winning. With Ash realizing his mistake, he gets his Butterfree back but then Team Rocket attacks the ship causing the boat to sink with most people evacuating except for Ash, Brock, Misty, Jesse, James and Meowth still in the ship at the bottom of the ocean.
