You're Just Not My Type (Tenya Iida x OC)

Chapter 29

I walked back to my seat to watch the battle between Momo and Tokoyami. That fight was also very quick. You could see the disappointment on Momo's face when Tokoyami pushed her out of bounds. Tokoyami is going to be a difficult opponent to beat. I think to myself. Jiro sits next to me.

"Congrats on the first win." She says.

"Thank you, but I still have a few more I need to win this whole thing," I say.

"You think you can win this whole thing?" She asked.

"No, but I can try." I smile.

"Well, you are pretty strong, I wouldn't be surprised if you made the top three." She said.

"Thanks." I smile. Just them Bakugo and Uraraka walked onto the platform.

Bakugo and Uraraka have drastically different quirks. But I think she has some tricks up her sleeve and I know she isn't going down without a fight.

The fight goes on, and it looks like Uraraka is getting beaten pretty badly, but she was using her quirk to pile rocks in the air to use an attack. Pretty smart move on her end. But as she released the rocks, Bakugo was able to blast them to pebbles in just one attack. The whole crowd was in shock. Uraraka fainted after that attack, but she put up a good fight. The robots came to get her, and take her to the nurse's offices.

There was also a roar of controversy in the crowd of whether or not Bakugo was too rough with her. But Aizawa being the "I hate my kids but if you touch them I'll kill you" teacher he is, called these people out. Cementos was fixing the platform and the next group was Midoriya and Todoroki. Their fight was extremely intense, at some points you couldn't even see what was happening. It was so intense the teachers had to intervene to make sure no one got hurt, but we did see some of Todoroki's fire quirk which was pretty cool. The battle was between Iida and Shiozaki. They told me that this battle was much like his battle with Mina, where he pushed her out of bounds using his speed, but that Mina was a little more challenging because of her acid.

Before, I quickly sped walked down to the waiting rooms. When I got there I saw Iida.

"Hello, Sumiye." He smiled. I began to feel nausea.

"Hey, Iida," I say.

"Preparing for your next battle, you are against Tokoyami correct?" he asks.

"Yes, I am. I'm a little nervous." I say, rubbing my hands together.

Iida walks over to me, grabbing my hands, and looking at me.

"I have no doubt that you will come out of this victorious. You are a strong woman, I know you can win." He states. My cheeks were on fire again. "Sumiye, are you alright, your face is quite red. Are you feeling well? He reached his hand as if to take my temperature. I quickly dodge his hand.

"Um thank you for that encouragement, I should probably get going... to my battle, right I have a battle right now," I say. I walk out of the waiting room and accidentally bump into a chair. I walk into the hallway, face on fire and stomach in knots. I could not tell if this was a good feeling or a bad feeling. I made it to the end of the hallway and waited for the light to light up so that I can begin walking to the platform.

I have no doubt that you will come out of this victorious. You are a strong woman.

Those words rang in my ears as I walked to the platform. I smirked. He was right, I was a strong woman.

"Begin" Midnight stated.

To beat Tokoyami, I would have to go on the offensive.

I started, throwing energy walls at Dark Shadow to slow him down. It worked a bit but then he was able up hit me a few times. I used my shield to block him, when He came close to pushing me out of bounds I tried to move out of the way, but I was unable to, so like Todoroki, I placed a shield behind me to keep me from going out of bounds. However Tokoyami took advantage of this and Dark shadow started to hit me many times to try and tire me out, the sad truth was that it was working. I could feel the energy in my body start to leave my body, as it went to powering my shield. My mind started to race, what the hell do I do now.

I could my eyelids get heavy, then I heard.

"Dumbass, how to expect to beat me if you're afraid of someone's shadow." I look up at the stands and she Bakugo. He was right, if I don't beat Tokoyami, I wouldn't be able to battle him in the next round. I starred at Tokoyami, I used as much energy as I could to push Tokoyami away and give me just enough space to get out of the corner that I was stuck in. Dark Shadow once again came after me but this time I was ready. I began creating a shield bubble, to capture Dark Shadow and Tokoyami. Dark Shadow, hit on the inside of the bubble to try and escape but it was no use. I pushed the shield bubble out of bounds with the last bit of my energy. When I was declared the winner, I sank to my knees, and let out a sigh of relief.

Tokoyami walked over to me and extended his hand. I took it and got off the ground.

"Thank you for this battle Sumiye. I wish you luck in the next, Bakugo is a tough opponent to beat, but I have faith in you." He said walking with me back to our seats.

When we got there we were taking a little break. Iida would have to battle Todoroki. I went to Recovery Girl's office. I saw Midoriya, getting ready to leave.

"Hey Sumiye, that was a great battle you had with Tokoyami, congrats." He said.

"Thank, Midoriya," I smile, weakly.

"Woah, are you ok?" He asked.

"What I'm just a little weak."

"How can I help you, sweetheart."

"Do you green tea, or coffee, or even a candy?" I ask.

"You've used up a majority of you're energy. I have a candy bar, would that work?"

"Yes," I nod my head.

"Well, why don't you rest for now, and I will inform you when it is time for your next battle," She said.

"Thank you so much." I bow.

"I'll let you rest. See you later Sumiye, and good luck with your battle with Kachhan. I know you told me that his quirk weakens yours. Do you have a plan?" He asked. I sigh.

"I don't, I'll have to try and push him out as fast as I can so I don't give him time to get out of my shield bubble," I tell Midoriya.

He nods his head, but before he walks out the door he turns to me.

"I think you can beat him Sumiye," Midoriya says before walking out. Those words somehow gave me that boost of energy that I needed for the next round. I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.

"Wake up sweetheart," Recovery Girl said next to me.

"Oh, is it time for my battle?" I ask.

"Almost. You have a visitor." I rub my eyes.

"Hey..." I see Jiro and Momo standing at the edge of the bed. "We brought you something."

"Ok..." Momo hands me some tea.

"Omg, thank you," I say.

"Jiro told me that you need tea with caffeine. It helps your quirk, so I remember I have a black tea that gives the most caffeine." She says.

"You guys are so sweet," I say.

"Well, drink it. Your battle starts soon and you need all the energy you can get." Jiro says.

"Right," I say, and begin drinking the warm tea.

"So how the battle with Iida and Todoroki?" I ask.

"It was good, Iida tried to use his speed against Todoroki but Todoroki was too powerful," Momo says.

"Why do you ask?" Jiro ask me, leaning in.

"Omg, because I missed the fight, damn. Also if I lose against Bakugo I'd have to battle Iida for third place," I say.

"Oh...." She says.

"Well thank you for beating Tokoyami. I was sad I was unable to do more against me." Momo sighs.

"You did great. I should thank you if you hadn't battled him I wouldn't have to know what to do." I say nervously.

"Oh, well I'm glad I could help." She smiles.

"Well, I should probably head down to the waiting room," I say.

"You can do it!" Both the girls cheered. It caused me to smile.

There are so many people cheering me on.
