Josh's POV
I was at Starbucks hanging out with Jenna, my girlfriend. I turned around to get some napkins, and then I saw some familiar faces: my niece, Riley, and her. The same blonde girl who was crazy for me four years ago. They're here. I walked up to them.
Josh: Riley! Maya!
Riley: Uncle Josh!
Maya: Hey, Josh. It's been a while.
Josh: Sure has. So are you going to school here now?
Riley: Yes. In a matter of fact, we are starting college this semester.
Josh: Cool. How do you like it here so far?
Riley: It's great. We just finished our classes, and we're taking a break here.
Josh: What about you, Maya? How are you?
Maya: I-
Jenna: (runs up) Hey, Baby!
Josh: Oh, Jenna. I'd like you to meet these girls. This is my niece, Riley, and her best friend, Maya.
Jenna: (whispering to Josh) Wait a minute. Is Maya the girl who was obsessed with you?
Josh: (whispering to Jenna) Jenna, not now. They're right in front of us. (talking to Riley and Maya) Girls, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Jenna.
Jenna: Hi.
Riley: Nice to meet you.
Maya: Your girlfriend?
Josh: Y-
Jenna: Yes! We've been dating for two years.
Maya's POV
I should've known better. Of course Josh has a girlfriend. He's everything a girl can dream of. He's handsome, sweet, and kind. He's amazing.
Maya: Your girlfriend?
Josh: Y-
Jenna: Yes! We've been dating for two years.
Well that pretty much broke my heart. I guess I still have feelings for Josh.
Riley: Anyway, it's been nice talking, but we have to go.
Here comes Riley to the rescue.
Josh: Okay, well maybe we'll see you guys later.
Jenna: Yeah, maybe.
Riley and I left Starbucks. I think on my way out I saw Jenna make a dirty face at me, but I'm not 100% sure.
Riley's POV
As soon as Josh said, "My girlfriend, Jenna," I knew that Maya felt some sort of feeling opposite of how you are supposed to feel at Rileytown. I made an "escape" plan, and we exited Starbucks.
Riley: Maya?
Maya: (stops with a sad expression)
Riley: Are you okay?
Maya: I'm fine. Let's just go to our dorm.
