After I left Maya in the middle of our makeout session, I realized that Maya is too special to for me to just do that to her.
Maya's POV
After Josh left, I sat there half naked on my bed. What just happened? We just had a massive makeout session. Why did he leave? A week later, we bumped into each other.
Maya: I-I'm sorry. (starts to walk away)
Josh: Maya, wait.
Maya: (stops)
Josh: We have to talk about what happened.
Maya: You mean our makeout session in which you left in the middle of?
Josh: I only left because I didn't want to take advantage of you like that. You were very vulnerable, Maya. I can't do that to you.
Maya: (looks at the ground) Fine. Thank you, but you were wrong when you said that I was special.
Josh: No I wasn't. You are the most special girl that ever lived. Look. Even though we had only been dating for three months, I already know that I love you. You give me a reason to wake up in the morning, and without you, I would die.
Maya: Josh-
He locked his lips with mine. We only kissed for about five seconds (Yes, I counted) when I let go.
Maya: Josh, no one has ever said anything like that to me before. Now I don't know if you mean it, but at this point in my life, I really don't care...about anything anymore. I know Jenna is going to ruin my life here. Do you know why I broke up with you? Because my life is a disaster, and I don't want you to go down with me. (walks away)
Damnit...I'm so confusing. If I was Josh, I'd probably hate myself. Heck, I already do. I'm a mistake. A month later, someone knocked on our door. Riley went to get it.
Riley: (opens the door) ...Josh. (looks at Maya then back at Josh) Come in.
Josh: (walks in) I have a plan.
Riley: Plan for what?
Josh: I have a plan to prove that Jenna really did what she did and that she will be expelled again.
Maya: Give it up, Josh. She's never going to admit anything.
Josh: Maya. Just trust me on this one.
Wow. To be honest, his plan was amazing.
Maya: That's actually a good plan.
Riley: Yeah. It could actually work out.
Josh: So what do you say?
Riley: Okay.
Maya: I'm on board.
I was in the park when Jenna came up.
Jenna: Alright, loser. What do you need me for?
Maya: I want to know why you're always pushing me around! Can you just stop messing with me already? I can't believe that at twenty-two, you're still being so childish!
Jenna: I'm childish? You're the one who stole MY boyfriend. He's mine!
Maya: I didn't steal him! You broke up, and I wasn't even there when it happened!
Jenna: Yes, you did! (raises her hand to slap Maya)
Maya: (grabs Jenna's hand) Not this time. Guys! I got her!
Josh, Riley, and the two cops who arrested Blake stood up from behind the bushes.
Officer Ross: We got her. (handcuffs Jenna)
Jenna: What are you doing? Let me go!
Josh: Can't. You're expelled from NYU and are being arrested for assault.
Riley: Your daddy's money can't get you out of everything.
Jenna: Shut up, you motherfuckers! Ugh!
Maya: (sarcastically) Bye, Jenna!
The two cops left with Jenna under their control. Finally.
Maya: Guys, I really don't know how to thank you.
Josh: You don't have to.
Riley: Yeah, Maya. We wanted to do this...for you.
Maya: (hugs Riley)
Riley: Well, I have to go now. See you guys later!
Maya: Bye.
Josh: Bye.
Maya: (turns to Josh) Josh, no one has ever done something like this for me before. I don't know how to thank you for it.
Josh: Maya, you don't need to. I feel very protective over you...in a cool way. Maya, I've never told you this before, but as soon as I saw you again at Starbucks, I couldn't keep my eyes off you. I felt sparks between us, Maya, and I wasn't joking when I said that I loved you.
Maya: But you can't love me-
Josh: But I do, Maya. Why are you so afraid?
Maya: It's just...no one has ever really felt this way about me. Josh, I'm a wreck. If you love me, you're going to see me on emotional rollercoasters.
Josh: Maya, I liked Jenna before. She is way worse than you can ever be. EVER. I can handle anything that you've been through.
Maya: Are you willing to wait?
Josh: Wait?
Maya: Are you willing to wait until I can open up my heart to you again?
Josh: I'll do whatever it takes, Maya.
Maya: (hugs Josh)
Josh: (kisses Maya's forehead)
