Maya's POV
Josh left feeling heartbroken. I'm so stupid. I hate myself. When Riley left the room to get something, I took out a knife. I rolled up my sleeves. I needed to do something. Jenna was right. I am worthless. I don't deserve to be in the world. I don't deserve to exist. I was about to stab myself when Riley opened the door.
Riley: Maya, don't! (runs to Maya and fights her for the knife)
Maya: Give it to me!
Riley: No! I won't let you do this!
Maya: Please Riley! For the love of God please just give it to me!
Riley: No!
We rolled all over the floor fighting for the knife. It was a miracle that neither one of us got cut in the act. After a while, Riley finally got hold of the knife.
Riley: Maya, don't do this.
Maya: I have to. Jenna was right about me. People like me don't belong in the world. If I kill myself, I would be doing everybody a favor.
Riley: No you wouldn't. Maya, don't do this just because of one stupid boy.
Maya: He's your uncle!
Riley: I don't care!
Maya: It's not just Josh. Think about it Riley. I have no one.
Riley: No one? You have a family! You have friends! You have me.
Maya: (sits on the floor next to her bed crying)
Riley: (sits next to Maya and rests her head on Maya's shoulder)
Maya: Look at me.
Riley: Look at us.
