...

THE heavy rain eventually faded off, and the frigidness of the air was bested by the warmth of the pillow that I hugged throughout the night.

Next thing that I heard is the merry sound of my alarm that woke me up from my deep sleep, almost like I only rested for seconds. Reality is that it is already morning.

Then there was my mother, banging the door. "Gumising ka na dyan, Chasen!!" she thundered.

Aisssshhh...

There really is something in every morning that can make me feel miserable. Adding up the things that happened yesterday and that calming feeling of my body while laying in bed.

It just feels so good. Being miserable while in a comfortable situation.

Tsk. If only, I could just choose to sleep all day...

But my mother's rage is a dangerous game to play with. So after seconds, I then saw myself standing and trying my best to not get caught in bed again. I yawned my way into fixing my bedding up to going out and washing my face.

As I go out of my room, the smell of some chicken being stir-fried from the kitchen welcomes me.

"Kain na rito," my mother called me from the kitchen as I stood beside our sofa. I brushed my hair using my left hand. "Nandyan na po," I answered before stretching my arms.

And so I walked into the direction of the kitchen. Still sleepy, I was quite slow while walking; giving me a chance to slightly catch a glance in the photo that's displayed in our living room.

For a while, I paused at the sight of the picture. My upper lip curled.

That side of the wall suddenly catches my attention making me glance at it for a while. That picture-

There goes her face smiling.

My eyebrows lowered as my eyes looked directly at her face. Lips slightly parted, amazed by her smile.

That is a picture of her. Retina.

We were still minors at that time. We were friends during those days, at least that's what I thought.

She was hugging me in the picture while holding a cone of ice cream in her right hand. The ice cream is not perfectly shaped, because being the kids that we are, some of the ice cream is on my face.

I was smiling too in the picture. I didn't know what I looked like at that time but I still smiled.

Literally, I was blinded during those times that we were still close to each other. I thought that we could be together til we finished high school but things took a different turn.

I was still blind at that time. If there is one thing good about the times when I was still blind. It will be because she can still look at me before.

Even though I can't see her.

Lost in my thoughts, it was already late when I noticed someone staring at me.

My head turned to my right as my sister suddenly inclined the right part of her body to the wall near me. She appeared out of nowhere.

She was still wearing her crimson-colored nightgown, while her hair was messily poured down. I saw a smirk on her face as she played with her fingers.

"Looking at some inspirations huh?" Her eyebrows rose. "You mean what I'm looking at right now? Not actually," I sarcastically replied making her sneer.
