Y/n POV

Dungeon and Dragons? I never really understood any of the game. It involed my brothers friends and him yelling about monsters and such. My brother Mike, he loved the same.

This was his favorite thing to do every Sunday. Though I didn't really have any interest in my twin brother and his dorky friends. There was one that always caught my attention.

I would sit and watch his big smile appear on his adorable face Everytime the dice worked in his favor. Mike didn't really like me hanging out with his friends. Since he found about my crush.

I was drawling hearts around his name in my notebook one night at the table when we were doing our homework. He didn't like having me around.

I heard there yelling comping from downstairs. My mom was in the kitchen finishing up dinner that we had.

"Y/n, why don't you go down stairs? It would be good for you" She said with as she continued to rinse off a plate.

I didn't really like to talk to people. I was very quiet. Maybe to quiet. My mom was really worried for me. For a second she thought I couldn't even hear.

But I do have a voice. It's not my choice to really talk. I like it that way. The quiet way.

"Okay" I mumbled as I walked slowly to the basement door. My hand was trembling as I reached for the door handle. Would Dustin think I was weird for coming down there with them?

I slowly walked down the stairs. I assumed they heard me walk down the steps. They all stopped and looked at me. I thought I saw Dustin smile but I didn't want to take an extra peak at him.

"What are you doing?" Mike asked as he stood up and walked over to me.

"Mom said-" I tried to say before he cut me off.

"I don't care. Get out" he told me. I winced at his words.

"Mike chill, she is fine" Lucas said. Out of all of Mikes friends Lucas was really nice to me. I mean they all were but Lucas would always help me with my homework or made sure I understood everything in Math.

"No! She is going to ruin everything!" Mike whined as he turned around and looked at Lucas.

"I think she is pretty cool" Dustin said. I quickly looked at him and his looked away. I tried my best to not smile or let the blood rise up to my cheeks.

"Whatever. But if you do something stupid you're going upstairs" Mike warned to me. I rolled my eyes and walked over to there table.

I stood over them not wanting to interrupt there ritual they had. I watched them as they picked up there game.

"Somethinga comjng. Somethings hungry for blood" my brother started as he said in a creepy voice trying to build up suspension. "A shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in darkness. It is almost here" Mike said as he looked around to his friends.

"What is it?" Will asked eagerly.

"What if it's the demogorgan?" Dustin asked. I looked at there faces trying to read them. Will leaned back. I heard groans coming out from both of there mouths. "Oh Jesus, we're so screwed if it's the demogorgan" Dustin said as he placed his head into his hands.

"It's not the demogorgan!" Lucas told the worrying boy. I kind of giggled at the way they were reacting over a game.

"An army of troglodytes charge into the chamber!" Mike shouted at them. They all sighed in relief.

"Troglodytes?" Dustin asked them.

"Told ya!" Lucas said with a laugh. They rest of them fall out into a laugh instead of Mike.

"Wait a minute" he said softly. All of the sudden the laughs stopped and they looked at Mike. Taking in every single one of his words. "Did you hear that? That... that sound? Boom...boom. BOOM!" Mike shouts as he slams the table. I wince as he did that.

I stood behind Dustin. He leaned back and my hand brushed his shoulder. I pulled back my hand and quickly tried to hide my face. That was one of the few times I have ever touched him.

"That didn't come from the Troglodytes. No, that...That came from something else" Mike said. The boys leaned forward. I kind of smiled at how dorky they could be.

"The demogorgan!" Mike shouted as he slammed the piece down. The boys fell back and groaned.

"We're all in deep shit" Dustin said through his  lisp. I always thought it was cute. Even though some kids used to make fun of him for it, I always found it adorable.

"Will, your action!" Mike demands to the boy on the side of him.

"I don't know!" Will said as he was stressed with the possible opportunity's he could choose.

"Fireball him!" Lucas shouted at the boy.

"I'd have to roll a 13 or higher!" Wills hosted back at his friend.

"Too risky. Cast a protection spell" Dustin told him.

"Don't be a pussy. Fireball him!" Lucas shouted back at Will.

"Cast protection" Dustin told him.

"The demogorgan is tired of your silly human bickering! It stomps toward you. Boom!" Mike shouted back at his friends.

I was assumed the way they were so intrigued in this board game. They sat down in this basement almost every Sunday.

"Fireball him!" Lucas shouted at him.

"Another stomp, boom!" Mike told them.

"Cast protection" Dustin reminded Will.

"He roars in anger!" Mike shouted.

They all started bickering back and forth. I coudknt even understand most of them. The loudness of there voices really hurt my ears. I wanted to back out of the room but something made me stay. I was so close to Dustin. I feel like I could reach my hand out and touch his hand.

I quickly shook my head. That was a stupid thought. Really stupid.
