Girl Afraid (Dustin Henderson x reader)

Chapter 25

Y/n POV

We were all sitting down in the bus. I shoved my hands in my pockets and leaned back on a seat next to Eleven as we watched Dustin pace back and forth.

"Will you stop pacing?" Mike asked him. I nodded my head along with him.

"It's been way too long" Dustin said as he started to freak out. "Do you know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe this is all a trap and the bad men are coming to get us right now!" Dustin said as he still paced.

"It's not a trap." Lucas told him harshly. "Why would they set us up? Nancy, maybe, but not the chief?" Lucas asked us.

"Lando calrissian" Dustin said as he pointed to Lucas.

"Would you shut up about Lando?" Lucas asks Dustin.

"I don't feel good about this" Dustin mumbles. "I don't feel good about this!" He said louder in Lucas's face.

"When do you feel good about anything?" Lucas shouted back. We all stopped arguing when we heard a car pull up. We all hurried to the front of the bus to get a better look. It was a 50/50 shot on who it could be.

It was a black car and another be chile pulled up beside it. "Shit!" Dustin said.

"Go, go, go, go" Mike said as we rushed back into the back of the bus. We all fell down to the ground so no one could see us. We laid there hoping that no one in their right minds would look in the bus.

"Lando" Dustin repeated. I fell down beside him and lightly hit him in the shoulder.

"You think they saw us?" Lucas asked from his spot as he stayed close to the ground.

"Both of you, shut up" I said as I fell down to the ground.

We heard car doors shut. I had no idea how many men there were but I could hear footsteps  around us, I didn't want to look up and see because I had no idea if they would be staring at us back. I heard footsteps get closer to the bus. And I heard the door open and then a loud grunt and something hitting the floor.

We all turned around to see what possibly could have happened. We heard more grunts and another body hit the floor. And another man scream before the same thing happened to him. I clung on to Dustin's arm.

The door opens again and I hide behind Dustin you rubs my arm to try to keep me calm. The touch of him sends shivers down my spine and makes my stomach do backflips.

When the door open Hopper came into few and I was able to let out the biggest breath in the world.

"All right let's go" Hopper said to us. That is the best news I've heard all day. We all stood there watching him for a minute. "Let's go!" He shouted and he didn't have to tell us a third time before we grabbed all of our stuff, and raced out of the bus.

It was dark when we made it to Wills house. Hopper didn't tell us much and none of us really talked for the whole way there. We all kept to ourselves.

When the car was parked Joyce, Johnathan and Nancy all came out of the house.

"Twins. Oh, my god. Twins!" Nancy said as he ran to us. And gave us a weird awkward hug. It felt forced and weird and she didn't really seem like she missed us almost. "I was so worried about you guys."

"Yeah, us...too?" Mike said not knowing how to answer.

"Same" I said as I shoved my hands in my pockets and looked around.

Nancy looked behind us at El. She had a confused look on her face.

"Is that my dress?" Nancy asked us as she gave Eleven a long look.

"I doubt it would fit you anymore" I said before looking back between the two girls. She gave me a glare. "What? Not calling you fat. It's just you haven't worn it since 6th grade" I said as I shrugged my shoulders.

We were inside the Byers home in the living room. We were informing the rest of the group what we new about the gate. Mike drew up the same drawing again explaining it again.

"Okay, so, in this example, we're the acrobat. Will and Barbara, and that monster they're this flea. And this is the upside down, where Will is hiding" Mike said as he pointed out everything that was important.

"Mr. Clarke said the only way to get there is through a rip of time and space" I finished off for Mike as I sat down on the floor next to him.

"A gate" Dustin told them.

"That we tracked to Hawkins Lab" Lucas added.

"With our compasses" Dustin added as well, I rolled my eyes at him.

Joyce, Johnathan and Nancy all looked at us as if we were crazy. I sighed and explained the compasses part a little more.

"Okay, so the gate has a really strong electromagnetic field, and that can change the direction of a compass needle." I dumbed down for them.

"Is this gate underground?" Hopper asked from a chair, he hadn't spiked much but he did listen to us.

"Yes" Eleven said quietly.

"Near a large water tank?" Hopper asked her. It seemed like Hopper knew something that we didn't. Like he has been there before.

"Yes" Eleven answered again.

"How do you know all that?" Dustin asked.

"He's seen it" I said connecting the obvious dots.

"Is there any way that you could...that you could reach Will? That you could talk to him in this—" Joyce said as she struggled to find the right words .

"The upside down" El answered for her.

"Down. Yeah" Joyce whispered back. Eleven nodded her head.

"And my friend Barbara?" Nancy asked. "Can you find her, too?" El gave her a nodd as well.
