dan didn't really know what he was expecting phil to look like but either way...
phil was beautiful.
"hey phil" dan blushed covering his mouth with his sleeve to cover his smile
phil giggled wiping his eyes for about the millionth time. he had given up and taken off his makeup so he didn't have to continuously keep checking that it wasn't smudged.
"what's wrong?" dan asked carefully
"oh er just my parents" phil sighed fiddling with his fringe
dan frowned "what's wrong with your parents?"
"it's just today, i realised that i haven't been in contact with them for an entire year and i miss them so much" phil whimpered
dans heart clenched. he just wanted to scoop the small boy up and kiss him all over and tell him everything will be okay
"if you don't mind me asking..." dan trailed off hoping phil would get the hint
"they ran away to another country when i was seven, they always sent letters when it was christmas or my birthday but i didn't receive anything from them this year" phil blinked back the tears "i probably sound really needy and all as well"
"no no no" dan reassured him "parents are meant to be there for their children so don't feel selfish at all"
"thank you dan"
