"I am Honest, I was Master's favorite card. And I want to know the truth!!" He shouted as I responded, "Run away while you can guys, I'll deal with Honest!" His feathers attacked as I used my power to generate a shield to stop them, "Not going to be that easy, Honest." My duel disk activated, "If you want to get rid of me, it'll be through battle." Axel helped to get us out of there after I made a big enough distraction, "Jay, now!" He grabbed onto me as Axel flung us out of there, "Honest, this won't bring Yusuke back!!" He talked about how we let him die but it wasn't anyone's fault for his boundless curiosity, "Luster Champion, go!" My powers scared our friends, as Jaden revealed how we both had our ancestors as part of our souls, "What is the disaster, Honest? Does it relate to Darkness and Nightshroud?" He nodded while telling him and me, about how spirits and the duel monster realm worked, and how the cards as well as the spirits were gradually being absorbed by Darkness.
"Here it comes, get ready!" Honest had been struck down by Trueman who trapped everyone in a shadow bubble, "Honest, get away from him!" He was stuck on the ground as Jaden tried to help him up, "My master abandoned me long ago and I wished to know why, why he left me." Jaden told him about how we found his card with Yusuke's belongings, and how he probably didn't want him mixed up with the Darkness project, "Live on inside me, Honest." I managed to convince him as I added him to my deck, with Jaden facing off against Trueman again. "Five Headed Dragon?! How did he end up under your control!!" The malicious shadowman smirked as he saw me growl, at the sight of the legendary Five Headed Dragon under his control after he absorbed it's duel spirit. "Go, Luster Champion!!" My call made Trueman try to fire the dragon's attack at me, but it failed to when Alicia summoned her monster, "Go! Empress Liabethy the Third!!"
Defending me from the attack, she bought Jaden enough time to use Honest in order to defeat Trueman with Neos, the two disappearing as Trueman left us with a cryptic warning. "And we'll help you when he comes back." Our friends had finally won Jaden over back from his self imposed solitude, making even me smile a little, "We'll all be ready for him."

A Couple of Weeks Later

"You're getting pictures for the yearbook already?" My question made Blair nod as she blushed a little, still having a crush on me even though it'd been three years since I started dating Liz, "Alexis wouldn't smile though, so we figured that we would celebrate by having the Yearbook Committee throw a party for all the seniors." Giving us our invites, she ran off while telling us that I would be Lisetta's Tag Team partner, but they hadn't actually gotten any confirmation from her to participate since she had been in the spirit realm. Talking to the remaining spirits that escaped the flood of Darkness, and reassuring them that it would be okay but I knew better than that, she was trying to gather information on what would come next. "There you are!" They jumped her with me after she returned before she could run off, making her take pictures as she reluctantly participated with a forced smile, "Is that all?" She was too serious for me to really understand sometimes, "Because I have something important to investigate."
Later while I was at the dance, she still hadn't shown up which made Chazz and Syrus fight me over who was going to be her duel partner, for when she did show up. "Why aren't you here yet, Liz?" As I walked toward the door, she walked in with a conflicted look on her face over what she was truly doing, "Jay...." She trailed when she saw me, "Liz, are you-?" Hassleberry had shone a light on us and announced that we would be partners, which made her visibly confused as she asked what he was talking about, "Well, I'll fight hard now matter the duel format." She was sullen unlike her usual chipper behavior, which had become a staple for me since I became distant myself, because it gave me hope that she was still happy until now. She was only pretending for my sake even though she didn't have to, and now it was obvious to our friends that she had been faking normalcy for them since, not even she knew how to continue after we came back from the alternate dimension. "I summon all three of my dragons using Yellow's ability and fuse them to form Luster Champion!" She shouted and won us our second duel.
"I summon, Dark Rising Shield Lancer by sacrificing Flare Scarab!!" She wasn't holding back anymore now that she had her powers back, "Now attack, directly!!" She walked away without saying anything following our last battle, but I could tell she was tired of a lot of things due to having lost the brightness she used to have, before she was revealed to have been Yubel's reincarnation and fused with her. "Jay, I'll come back when I'm ready." She walked past Alicia who wanted to tell her something but it fell on deaf ears, "She isn't dueling like she used to, Jay. Do you know what might be wrong with her?" Blair asked me but I thought she was more interested in me, since she used to have a huge crush on me and all. "No, she's been like that since we returned but she put on her best self, er well a recreation of her best self for you guys because she didn't and still doesn't want to make you feel any different." It was always a talent of mine, to be able to read Lisetta as well as I did even before we started dating, but now more than ever was confused as to why I could only read her thoughts and not how she felt.
"You can't read her as easily as before, right?" Aster had asked me, following a try at helping Chazz figure out what career he wanted, "Yeah, it's like she doesn't want to be by me anymore." He reassured me by patting my shoulder, "Just like how you're dealing with your rough patch right now, she's dealing with her own as well." Even so, why she felt that relying on me wouldn't work was a mystery, "But why...why can't she...." He grabbed both of my shoulders while looking me in the eyes, "Because it's something she feels she needs to deal with on her own, Jay." She later accumulated her hundred graduation duel challenge with ease, having watched my battles from afar after people stopped challenging her due to her dragon cards. "Why would they do something so disrespectful?" Her words chilled Shepperd to the bone, after mentioning a copy of Yugi's deck that would be given as a prize, "I'm surprised my father even agreed to let them do that."

A horde of Atty's fangirls swarmed him until I dueled my way to the front of them with my queens, princesses, and other royalty cards. "If anyone is dueling Atticus Rhodes, then it will be me, Alicia Drenenstein!!" He sweat a little when he saw me, "Please be gentle, Alicia." My smirk made him visibly quake in some fear, "Not on your life, Atty."
