I woke up and found myself in a pool of blood. I cursed myself, jumped out of bed and looked down to see blood running down my legs and soaking my nightgown.
"Astraea," I said weakly, my voice wavering.
"Hmm?" she muttered, rolling over in her bed.
Her eyes immediately went wide when she saw the state I was in. She shot out of bed, rushing to my side.
"Oh dear," she fussed, her eyes flitting over all of the blood. "I'll go get your mother."
"Please," I nodded, tears stinging my eyes.
Astraea left the room, and I bit my lip to keep it from quivering until I heard footsteps coming down the hall. The door opened, and my mother entered, Astraea on her heels.
"What is it?" she trailed off as she saw the sight before her.
"What do I do?" I demanded, almost having to sit down from the pain ripping at my stomach.
"I'll run you a bath and get you some supplies," she sighed. "Astraea, dear, will you strip the sheets?"
"Of course," Astraea nodded, stepping towards my bed.
Mother exited the room as I groaned, clutching my stomach. Astraea pulled the sheets off my bed, a sympathetic expression on her face.
Astraea helped me walk to the bathroom, where I found the tub was filled with hot water. I began to remove my blood-soaked nightgown, Astraea's hands keeping me from falling.
"My stomach hurts," I complained to them, sniffling.
"I'll go into town and get you a tonic," Mother decided, she and Astraea lowering me into the tub. The hot water eased the pain a little. "Do you want some soup?"
"Yes, please," I grumbled, sinking deeper into the water.
"I'll make it," Astraea said. Luna toddled into the bathroom, clutching onto her mother's nightgown.
"Silly, it's too early for bathtime!" the three-year-old giggled at me.
"Luna, let's go get breakfast," Astraea sighed, picking her toddler up. "Eve isn't feeling very well."

Later that day, I lay in bed with a bag of hot rice on my stomach, a tonic by my side, and a book in my hands.
I had never felt such intense pain in my entire life. It felt like my insides were being ripped open, and my lower back burned.
Mother had gone to work, but Astraea kept coming in to check on me. She was so nurturing for her age. Little Luna had decided to take her daily nap in my bed, so I had cuddled with her for a while. Now, she was downstairs with her mother.
There was a soft knock on the door. I turned my head and managed to make a small noise to let them know they could come in.
The three boys stepped into my room very quietly as though I were a baby that would start crying at any sudden noise.
"Are you okay?" Rhys asked me.
"I'm in pain," I complained, pouting as I put down my book.
"You smell disgusting," Cassian cringed. I glared at him.
