This was it. They had done it. In less than twenty four hours they had figured out how to get the proof they needed to bring John B and Sarah home. Gavin was meeting with Ward and all they had to do was record it, get the gun Rafe used to kill the sheriff, and this whole nightmare would be over. JJ ran behind Pope with Kiara trailing behind, his adrenaline pushing him to run even faster than he thought was possible, they couldn't miss their chance that they had waited all day for. He was even more impressed when Pope scaled over a fence with ease as if he didn't normally stumble every time he had tried in the past.

JJ jumped over the fence, whipping his head back and forth between Pope to make sure he knew where they had to go and then behind him to make sure Kiara and Madison were able to keep up. Kiara came into view a second later and continued after Pope but that was it. JJ pulled himself up on the stone fence, looking for Madison and was confused when there was nothing but darkness.

"Kie!" He called out, squinting in the dark to see if he could see Madison running towards him, knowing she usually ran a little slower than the rest of them but not enough that she would be that far behind. "Where's Maddie?"

The question had her stopping short and in all the commotion she had just assumed that she was following behind. "Uh, I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know?" JJ's voice carried through the backyard as Pope nearly ran into a swingset, tripping over his own two feet at the sight of a girl in a bikini who actually knew his name.

Kiara's chest heaved from the excitement as well as running and looked between JJ and Pope not sure who she should go after, "What do we do?"

"Go!" JJ pointed in the direction Pope had run off to because as much as he needed to go find Madison he wasn't about to tell her they missed their chance to bring her brother home. "I'll find Maddie. Make sure you get it, Kie! We need this!" She needs this, he added silently in his head as his feet hit the ground, sprinting off in the direction of where they left Kiara's car.

He pulled his phone from his pocket, pausing for a brief second to look at her contact picture, there she was with a huge smile on her face as he gave her a piggyback ride. He couldn't even remember who took the picture but it was a smile he hadn't seen in awhile and it shot a pain right through his heart as he dialed Madison's number almost knowing that she wouldn't answer but he had to try. He got back to Kiara's car and it was just as they had left it though at least now it was no longer blocked in so when they had to leave they could. He tucked the phone between his shoulder and his ear as he whipped open the back door, grabbing his backpack, and dumping the contents out on the seat.

"Come on, come on, come on," he mumbled as he begged for Madison to pick up, his heart stopping when he noticed the gun was gone and the phone fell from his shoulder and into the backseat.. His hands immediately went to his hair, tugging on it out of frustration, how could he have not noticed she wasn't behind them?
