The rain had started to let up, now just a light drizzle as if it knew the events of the night were coming to an end. JJ's leg anxiously bounced up and down in the backseat of Kiara's car as she drove through the streets of Figure Eight. "And she didn't say anything else?"

"No, not really," Pope answered, shifting uncomfortably in his seat, Madison's words playing over and over again like a broken record. JJ had told him that it was more than what he had said to her that his words while being too harsh and uncalled for wasn't the main reason to worry but how was he not supposed to feel guilty especially after what she said to him on the phone.

I really am no better than Rafe.

JJ could see there was more going on, he was able to read Pope like an open book but before he got the chance to question him further Kiara spoke up, "She said she was on Star Height Lane? How did she get way over there?"

"Why did she want to talk to you?" JJ asked, completely ignoring Kiara. He hadn't put too much thought into how she got over on that side of Figure Eight or even why because he was having a hard enough time wrapping his head around the fact that she only wanted to talk to Pope, no, she demanded to talk to him, and while JJ knew they were good friends this seemed different. She usually came to him over anyone else, especially since John B had been gone, and he didn't like the feeling he got in the pit of his stomach when she didn't seem to want or need him.

Pope pointed to the stop sign Kiara had just rolled up to, doing his best not to even glance in the blonde's direction because he knew as soon as he made eye contact he wouldn't be able to lie anymore, "I think it's up two more blocks."

"I know where I'm going," Kiara snapped at him, the tension in the car even higher than it was while they were camped out in it all day waiting to basically wiretap Gavin, who was now dead, and it seemed that everything they went through was all for nothing.

JJ was ready to push Pope out the damn car if he didn't start answering his questions and why was the drive taking so freaking long it wasn't like anyone was on the roads. She left with the gun. Pope would have told him if she was hurt, wouldn't he? Was that why he wasn't answering his questions because he thought he couldn't handle hearing the truth? But then why would she ask for Pope because he wouldn't be able to do anything that JJ couldn't. "Dude, did she hurt anyone? Was she upset? Did she say where she went? Why did she want to talk to you again?"

"Uh..." Pope almost couldn't think of an answer quick enough and it wasn't like he was trying to keep it from his best friend but he saw JJ spiraling. He knew Madison wasn't in a good place mentally and if it was possible he was more worried now than when John B had 'died'. He was focusing all his energy and attention on the fact that he was now going to have to tell her that the evidence he was supposed to get to bring her brother home was now destroyed. "She...uh...she just didn't want to worry you... you know... doesn't want you to be mad...or anything..."
