Hera, Merle, and I were in the girl's locker room. Winter break passed and today we had our first PE class. "Fuck I'm nervous" Hera whispered loudly. Merle and I giggled, nervous too. "Have you seen those boys?" Hera muttered.
"I have" Merle wiggled her eyebrows at us.
"We need to stick together girls." Hera said.
"I'm sure the teacher will give us fair chances. Surely, they are not going to let us fight against the strongest." I tried to assure them. I was lucky to have Lucian, Rowan, Ewald, and Dorian. During winter break I trained with them. I felt muscles I didn't know existed. Lucian and Rowan were too strong, but against Ewald and Dorian I could win sometimes.
We ran a few tours around the field as a warm-up, the teacher ran with us, pushing us to run faster. "Gather around me please" the teacher said while he took his notes. "I have divided you in pairs for today. I want to see if you could learn from each other or push each other to became better."
Hera raised her hand in the air "yes Hera?"
"I hoped that we, the girls could stick together?"
"And what are you going to learn from that Hera? Life isn't always easy or fair. If you fight against someone with the same strength or skills, you will learn absolutely nothing."
She nodded with a blush "sorry Sir, you are right."
"Okay, when I say your name please go stand with your partner. Dorian and Merle." Merle's eyes went wide and she squeezed my hand before she walked towards Dorian.
"Rowan and Orian. Lucian and Ewald." Ewald groaned and Lucian wrapped his arm around his shoulder "we're going to have so much fun." He teased Ewald who just groaned.
"Everett and Silas, Nixon and Ophelia" I heard my name and looked around for Nixon. He is always invisible; I had almost forgotten about him.
"And our last pair is Hera and Vesper."
I walked towards Nixon "Hi Nixon, I'm Ophelia." I looked up because he is really tall. It was the first time I looked him in the eyes, and I lost myself in those dark brown eyes. Now and then I saw his wolf come forward. "I know Ophelia" he said in his husky, flat voice.
"Oh, sorry." I don't know why but I was extremely nervous to really talk to him, so I blurted out "I've been training over the holidays."
"What do you mean by that? That you can easily take me on?" He smiled down at me, his brown eyes sparkled, and I noticed some golden flecks in them when he smiled.
I huffed "no... no of course, not Nixon. You are oblivion stronger than me, faster too" I stammered. 'What the hell?' Aria just giggled in my head.
"Did you watch me?" he asked, still smiling.
I was lost for words and was relieved when the teacher explained to us what we needed to do. "The person in front of you is your sparring partner until the end of this year unless I decide otherwise."
