"How is college?" I asked Ivy and Jupiter that arrived last night.
"I love it. The lessons, the people. The atmosphere there. I made some friends," Ivy said with a smile.
"I'm the only fire Fae in my class and they are all afraid of me." Jupiter grumbled.
Ivy and I laughed at that "maybe you could try to act a bit more__ I don't know friendly." Ivy suggested.
She glared at Ivy for a moment before she looked at me "I'm the same you met in high school. Wasn't I friendly?"
I nodded "of course you were. But maybe that was because we had at the time a common annoyance."
"Tristan" she nodded "he isn't that bad. He made a lot of friends, but he still makes time for me. If the girls in class could, they would kill me for spending time with him."
I snorted "maybe that's why they don't like you. He has only eyes for you, they are jealous."
She shook her head "they can have him. I don't want a man-whore."
I hummed "maybe you should ask him how many girls he really kissed. You would be surprised to hear his answer. And when was the last time you saw him with a girl?"
"2 days ago, she was sitting on his lap," she muttered.
"It's not because she was sitting on his lap that he wanted it. You have seen some of those girls, they practically threw themself at him. And he is still the son of the Alpha," I said.
"You should talk to him," Ivy said.
"How is Lucian doing?" Jupiter asked Ivy to change the topic.
She smiled "good but I don't think he will stay long in college. His father wants him home so that he can start to prepare him to take over from when the time is right."
I frowned "does he want to quit college?"
"He was already thinking about quitting after this year. He wanted to experience it, but he knew that he would never finish it. He is staying for me now."
For the rest of the week Asper showed us around her territory. This week we were really tourists, seeing the beautiful things in the territory. Visiting remnants of the past like a part of the Grand Canyon. After the tectonic plates shifted, not much remained of it. But you could still see how beautiful it must have been once.
At the end of the week Valerio, Camille and the other children came back home, and they were different around me. Every time he could Valerio hugged me. Camille smiled constantly at me. I'm sure they knew who I really was. But they didn't say anything, so I kept my mouth shut. When Blake invited some friends over and they started flirting with me he snapped and threw them out. When I asked him If he was alright, he mumbled something about protecting me and then he ran away. They must have told Asper too because she was always smiling at me, it started to creep me out a bit. Luckily Jamie Lynn and Frey acted normally around me. I was relieved when we said goodbye and boarded the train home. I finally felt and understood how Tristan must have felt growing up. People really treat you differently when you have a 'name'. I only hadn't expected it from my own family.
