Ares was right about one thing, well no two things

Ares was right about one thing, well no two things. First of all, Ophelia was indeed a beauty, not that I was attracted to her, but I can admit when I see a beautiful person. And secondly, I also felt her power. What I found curious was that she never asked how Nixon was. I found it strange since they were mates. Or she doesn't know? I don't know how well he would cope with seeing her so close to all her male friends. Although most of them had a mate or were with the person they thought would be their mate.

After I warned them in the office Ophelia took me back to the hall and we searched for Lain and his mate, Lyanna. We never found them; he probably used his ability to mask their scents. Ophelia told me that she was the King's Beta daughter. Grandma Maria would find that very funny, Lain the future Beta of the King and Queen. If Ophelia kept them in that position anyway.

After the last guest left Ophelia guided me to a guest room and told me that she would come and get me in the morning for breakfast. I slept pretty well although I missed the sounds of the forest around me.

A soft knock on my door interrupted my thoughts early in the morning. The door opened slowly, and Ophelia peeked inside the room "awake?" she asked with a smile.

"Yes, you're up early" I said.

She blushed "I couldn't sleep anymore, and you said last night that you are a witch. So, I thought that maybe wanted to see the Queen her garden."

"I would love too." I stood up from the bed and followed her through the halls.

"I'm happy that you were up already. Most of my friends sleep longer. What do you know about healing powers of plants, herbs, flowers, and such?" she asked me.

I smiled down at her "a lot. Grandma Maria taught me everything."

She hummed "are you a hybrid too?" She placed her hand over her mouth, "sorry for asking, that is none of my business."

I chuckled "that's fine Ophelia. I haven't taken the blood test but I'm sure that I'm a witch and I worked hard to master or developed my Fae power. I don't think I'm a real hybrid like Lain. But I do have two species in me."

"Did you go to school?"

"We have a school in the forest. In theory we are rogues, we can't come to the schools outside the forest. Some can."

"Like Nixon?" she asked.

"Yes, he went to a high school in Sakaris."

She hummed but didn't asked further. In the meantime, we had reached the garden. She opened her arms wide towards the garden like she wanted to present it to me "the garden" she smiled, a real smile. I could tell she was happier here than inside the palace. I whistled at the sight of the garden; Grandma Maria would love this. No more hiking through the forest to find something.
