"What do you think?" I asked Fay when she entered my room. I stood in front of the mirror and admired the dress I was wearing for tonight. My parents had gifted me this dress for my first Soulmate ball. It was a long silver silk dress, and it showed off all my assets. I was nervous, not for finding my mate, I had given up on that, but for seeing Tristan again. I knew that Tristan and Vivie were coming tonight, Fay had asked me if she could invited them. She wanted to meet Vivie. I hoped that it wouldn't be awkward, I hadn't seen him since our last talk. In our last conversation he asked me to give him time, time to figure out his feelings and I had told him that I would give him that. The minute he left my room I started packing. I wasn't going to stay there and come between fated mates. I had feelings for him yes, but they were nothing compared to a mate bond. My feelings could fade away. I wasn't going to take that away from him. I hope that my feelings are gone or that my love for him changed into a love for a best friend. Before I left, I contacted Vivie and assured her that I wouldn't come between them.

"Gorgeous Jupiter," Fay smiled at me.

"So are you," I told her, eyeing the light yellow dress she was wearing. "Nixon is going to mark you in the middle of the dancefloor." I smirked at her.

She rolled her eyes "I should have known that you would say something like that. I already showed him last night."

"What did he think?" I asked her.

She blushed and changed the subject "ready to face Tristan and Vivie?"

I nodded "I think I am."

She took my hand in hers and squeezed it "I'm here for you uh."

"I know." I kissed her temple. "I love you, Fay."

She smiled brightly at me "I love you too Jupiter."

"Girls! It's time." Syringa called out.

"Do you want to find your mate?" Fay asked me when we walked out my room.

I shrugged "I have given up on that."

She shook her head "no need to act tuff all the time Jupiter. And besides, you are only 20 years, that's a bit early to give up on finding your soulmate."

"Fine" I huffed. "I would love to have a mate, Fay. I'm fucking jealous when I see all my friends with their mates."

She stopped walking "oh!" her eyes went wide. "Sorry Jupiter, I never took you feelings into account when I'm with Nixon."

"It's fine Fay, really. It's not that awful to watch. I'm glad that my friends have found their soulmate."

"He is out there Jupiter, waiting for you," she whispered and pushed a loose lock of hair behind my ear.

I hummed, "now let's go, I'm sure Nixon is getting nervous for not having you next to him."

She giggled "probably."
