Song: This Is The Life- Amy MacDonald.
Dareen
"Dareen, your phone is ringing." Harry yelled.
"Picky is sleeping on top of me. Will you please get it?" I whined as he groaned appearing at the doorframe of the living room.
"Thank you." I smiled taking it from him.
"Hello?" I pressed the phone to my ear.
"Hello Dareen, how are you, now?"
"Sir Adam, I'm fine. What about you?" "Good, but you left us drowning between those reports. I'm waiting for you to join us again."
"I will, soon." I smiled.
"Alright, I called to tell you that next Saturday will be the 40th anniversary of this company, and we make a party to calebrate every year."
"Oh, that's lovely. Congratulations, sir." I grinned at his proud tone.
"Thank you, dear. So, you're coming?" He asked making me sit up which made Picky look at me in annoyance.
Sorry for being such an uncomfortable bed, Picky.
"I don't think that I can. I'm sorry." I sighed.
"Oh.. didn't think that you'd let me down."
"I'm know, but really- I have to-"
"Listen, you still have couple of days to sort everything out. I insisted on calling you even though Maria is the one responsible to inform everyone, so at least don't make me look bad."
"Okay, I'll do my best." I sighed.
"You'll come." He repeated.
"Fine."
"Say it." That kinda reminded me of Elliot.
"I will come." I sighed again.
"Finally, thank you, Dareen. Plus, I have a very important announcement, so you have to be there." He repeated.
"Sure, sir."
"Sorry for taking from your time."
"I'm doing nothing. It's alright." I smiled as he hung up.
"Harry!" I called out.
"Yeah?"
"Where's Christina?"
"I'm here." She sighed placing some plastic bags in the kitchen.
"We need to go shopping."
"Now? Seriously?" She groaned.
"Sir Adam called me, and we have a very important event on Saturday. Since I don't have something so elegant, we need to go and buy a new dress today. Now."
As much as I don't want to go, I am looking forward to see Elliot. I want to look happy and proud of myself not broken because of him. I want to prove to everyone that I'm stronger than they thought.
"Who's going to help me with lunch if both of you are going to hang out?" Harry raised a brow.
"Go out with your friends, and we're going to eat together." I shrugged.
"You don't want me to come with you?"
"No." Christina shrugged.
"Should I feel offended?" He raised a brow.
"Very." I giggled making him roll his eyes.
"Go get dressed." Christina shooed me off as she wrapped her arm round Harry's waist.
"Behave." I giggled as I stepped out of the kitchen with Picky following me.
--------
"I think I would end up wearing any old dress." I sighed.
We've been walking aroud for nearly three hours, but we still didn't find anything that matches the event.
"Let's look there." Christina pulled me to another store.
"Look at this." She pulled out a short black dress.
"I like this." I smiled taking it from her.
"I love this one." Her eyes widened as she pulled out a long white dress.
"It's too revealing." I shook my head.
"Try it." She shrugged pulling out another orange summer dress. "This one is for me."
"Harry will like it." I winked.
"I think so as well." She giggled. "Go try your dresses till I take a tour around."
"Okay." I nodded as I walked into one of the fitting rooms.
Stripping, I quickly put on the black dress. It looks okay, but not as good as I wished to look. Unlocking the door, I walked out to find Christina waiting for me.
"I don't like it." She shook her head making me sigh. "Try the other one." She pointed at the white one hanging, and I nodding closing the door at her face.
Changing, I turned to look at myself in the mirror, and I felt satisfied, but I don't know if it's good enough. Once again, I unlocked the door, and Christina's eyes widened as well as her smile.
"You're definately going to take this one!"
"It's too revealing." I turned around.
"If I were you, I'd take that to make Harry jealous."
"I don't want to make anyone jealous." I rolled my eyes.
"You are. Anyways, if you don't like then don't take it, but I think that we won't find anything better."
"I don't know. I'll decide later." I sighed closing the door again.
Turning around once again, I admired my look. I look so feminine in this dress.
Changing quickly, I stepped out carring it on my arm.
"I'll take it." I shrugged making her smile.
"I'll take that as well." She nodded as we walked towards the cashier.

Elliot
"Dinner's ready." Alice smiled as she walked into the living room where I was sitting with mum, Ethan and my stepdad.
"You prepared it?" I asked picking her up.
"Uhuh." She nodded.
"You know how much I missed you?" I whispered in her ear as she nodded.
"Did you miss me?" I asked as I sat down with her on my lap.
"Yeah." She nodded resting her head on my shoulder. "But Linda told me stories before sleeping."
"You're a cute lady." Linda smiled as they all got seated round the table.
"I'm glad that we're sitting together tonight, and that no one is going out." I looked at mother who just didn't reply.
"Yeah, I guess we can start, then." Linda smiled sitting down, and we started digging in our plates.
"We need to talk in private." Ethan said quietly.
"Sure." I nodded.
"How's work?" Mum asked.
"It's fine. I'm going to Morocco next week."
"Really? I heard that it's a beautiful country."
"Yeah, but I don't know if I will have the time to take a tour, though." I shrugged.
"Don't go." Alice whined wrapping her tiny arms round my torso.
"We still have sometime to spend together." I smiled kissing the top of her head.
"You really have a strong bond." Dan, Ethan's father, commented.
"She's my baby sister." I shrugged holding her close.
"God bless all of you." Linda smiled placing her hand on top of mine.
---------
"How are things with Dareen?" Was the first thing for Ethan to utter once he closed my bedroom door.
"We lost contact." I sighed.
"That easy?" He raised a brow.
"I will talk to her when it's the right time. Now, tell me. What's wrong?" I asked changing the subject.
"Nothing. I just wanted to ask about that." He sighed.
"Don't think about it. Tell me, how's Linda?"
"I can't really understand the question." He furrowed his brows.
"How's our new neighbour?" I winked making him chuckle.
"They're good, but don't bring up the subject if you don't want her to close the door on your finger." He raised a bandaged finger making me laugh out loud.
"She's really falling in love."
"I don't want to imagine the day she'll tell us that she's going to leave us, honestly." He sighed.
"Don't be dramatic. We'll always be together." I ruffled his hair making him smile.
"I wish so." He shrugged.
"I promised you, and I never break my promises." I smiled faintly.
I just broke one when I lied to Dareen, but I swear that I had no other choice.
