Song: One More Night- Maroon 5.
Dareen
Everything is so normal- boring, actually. My last semester ended, and I graduated, but I don't feel anything about it- not happy, not sad. I also got a new job in another company. I like it, and I like my colleagues, so I guess this is okay.
I heard nothing of Elliot since I left that day that I sometimes find it funny how I actually thought that he loved me. You never let go of the people you love.
"Dareen, are you ready?" Harry yelled.
"Yeah, but you don't have to come with me, Harry." I sighed.
"If his father is not here, then at least his godfather should be there to make sure that he's fine."
"He has no father, Harry."
"Not because you chose to be a single mother that your baby has no father. Elliot's still alive, and he must know that you're pregnant."
"We talked about this before, didn't we?" I glared at him.
"I'm a father, Dareen, and I know that even if Elliot wasn't a good boyfriend, he'd be a good father. Don't be selfish."
"He doesn't want me." I shook my head. "C'mon, let's go." I dismissed openning the front door.
---
"How's the baby?" Christina grinned once we stepped back in their apartment.
"He's fine." I smiled picking Anna up.
"How's my cutie pie, today?" I grinned holding her up as she giggled.
"Sit down." Harry smiled pecking her nose.
"I want to eat her." I giggled pulling her over my lap, but soon enough, she turned to Harry raising her arms for him to carry her.
"She wants her papa." He chuckled picking her up.
"I don't want to cook today, let's go out."
"Okay. I'm craving chocolate." I smiled.
"Alright. I'll change." Harry nodded handing Anna to Christina.
"I forgot to ask you, did you tell them at work that you're pregnant?" She turned to me.
"No, it's still too early." I shrugged.
"What about Matt?"
"I don't want to break his heart, but I'm not ready to go through another relationship. Plus, I don't want my son to grow up with a step dad."
"You like him, though." We made eye contact.
"He's so good, but I can't get Elliot out of my mind." I confessed.
"You're not planning on living alone all your life, are you?" She rolled her eyes.
"I don't know." I sighed. "Maybe if I found the right person, I'd change my mind, but I'm sure that Matt is not the right person."
"Then you shouldn't give him false hope." She reminded, and I nodded.
"Where's Picky?" Harry asked.
"Sleeping." I shrugged.
"She sleeps a lot like her momma." He teased.
"Thanks." I faked a smile playfully.
"Her momma is prego. It's normal to sleep for a long time. Don't make fun of it." Christina warned.
"Sorry." He chuckled kissing her temple.
"Get Anna's chair and her bag." She smiled pecking his lips.
"I'll get it, and I won't tell you to get a room cause I'm too hungry." I shook my head making them giggle.

Elliot
"What did you do concerning the reports I asked you about?" I asked Helena, my new assistant.
"They're here, sir." She handed them to me.
"You're shaking?" I furrowed my brows.
"Sorry, sir. It's my first week."
"Okay, calm down. I don't bite." I shrugged making her smile.
"Okay, sir."
"You'll redo these reports, though. You can ask for anyone's help, but don't hand over shit like this." I said quietly. "I did my best, sir." She frowned blinking back tears.
Ignoring her, I picked up the phone dialling John's number.
"Yes, sir?"
"Come quickly." I answered curtly.
"Sir-"
"Stay outside, please." I told her as John stepped in.
"You called me, sir."
"Sit down." I nodded as she stepped out.
"Something's wrong?"
"If you don't know the qualities we need in our work, tell me."
"What happened, sir?"
"Helena has no experience, John. She can't be in this position. A simple report is all I am asking for yet she makes me feel like I'm asking for something strange."
"Her CV was perfect."
"What about her interview? Listen, she's a decent girl, but not my assistant." I sighed.
"There's no one as good as Miss Dareen Isaac."
"God made Dareen, and he made people with minds just like hers. Right?"
"Sure." He nodded. "I'll sort this out. Excuse me." He sighed, and I nodded as Maria stepped in.
"Sir, I took an appointement with sir Richard tomorrow."
"At what time?"
"Seven PM."
"Alright." I nodded getting up.
"Are you leaving, sir?" She followed me outside.
"I'll just take a tour around." I shrugged walking outside.
------
"Hey Linda." I smiled pecking her cheek.
"Hey, baby."
"Where's mum?"
"She went out to take a walk with Alice, and Ethan is in his room."
"Where's Joseph?" I asked walking to my room with her following.
"He's still at work." She shrugged. "Are you okay?" She frowned.
"It's been a long day." I sighed.
"I still can't understand what happened with Dareen."
"We broke up. She resigned, and I accepted."
"Do you think it was a good idea? I mean, she's a lovely girl." She frowned.
"I don't know. I guess that we had serious issues. That's for her best."
"For her best or for your best?"
"I am torn, Linda. I can't find anyone better when it comes to work, and I can't think of continuing my life with someone else."
"If you loved her, then you shouldn't have let her go, but since you left her- you have no choice but to handle the consequences."
"No way back?" I whispered.
"It depends on what you did, and how hurt she is. You can give it a try, though." She suggested.
"I need to take a nap." I dismissed.
"Okay. Call me if you need anything. I'll go prepare lunch." She sighed walking outside.
