Song: Whispering- Alex Clare.
Dareen
"What do you think?" I turned to face Picky who just barked at my face.
"Thank you, Picky. Let's get the door." I giggled picking her up as I pulled the door open to greet Elliot.
"Hey, Picky." He chuckled patting her head before giving me my kiss. "You look pretty." He grinned.
"I'm so nervous, Elliot." I sighed placing Picky back on the floor.
"Don't be." He whispered.
"I still can't forget what happened. The fact that I'll be in his home is intimidating." I shook my head.
"Babe, you'll be in my house and no one can hurt you. I also want you to know that Ethan is not so bad. He did a horrible mistake, but that wasn't him, okay?"
"I know all this. I guess I'm- over-reacting." I huffed. "I'll grab my purse."
------
"Let's go." Elliot smiled as he helped me out of the car. "They'll like you." He whispered as he turned the key in it's hole.
"Linda, mum! We're here." He called out as he closed the door.
"Let me take your coat." He whispered helping me to take it off.
"Thank you." I smiled as Linda approached us.
"I'm sorry, darling for making you wait. How are you?" She grinned hugging me tightly.
"I'm really good. Thank you." I giggled pulling away.
"Come on in." She smiled walking me to the living room with Elliot following.
"Where are the others?"
"Alice was a bit sick, so I took her to rest, but your mother and Ethan are in their rooms. I'll call them. Excuse me." She smiled walking away.
"Sorry guys, I didn't know you arrived." His mother stepped in with a small smile.
"It's okay, mama. This is-"
"Dareen." She cut him off. "Nice to meet you. I'm Gabrielle, Elliot's mother."
"The pleasure is all mine, ma'am." I grinned shaking her hand.
"C'mon, dinner's ready." Linda announced.
"Let's talk while we eat." His mother smiled as we followed her to the kitchen.
"Where's Ethan?" Elliot asked.
"He was in the bathroom, but he's coming. Uh- here he is." Linda smiled as he stepped in.
"Uh- hey." He said awkwardly shaking my hand.
"Hi." I nodded sitting down.
"Sit down, Ethan." Elliot smiled motioning for him to take a seat.
"I'm full." He shook his head.
"You didn't eat a single thing, Ethan. That's not good, darling." Linda frowned.
"He doesn't look okay." I whispered to Elliot.
"Are you feeling sick?" Elliot stood up.
"No, it's fine. I'll sit with you, but I don't know if I'll be able to eat." He dismissed sitting next to Elliot.
"Don't you need lemon juice or anything? Maybe you caught a virus from Alice or something." I dared to ask.
"No, thanks for your concern." He sighed.
"Tell me Dareen, where are your parents?" Gabrielle questioned taking a bite of her chicken.
"They both passed away." I sighed.
"I'm sorry. Was it an accident?" She question.
"No, my father died in the war in Lebanon, but mama was just sick."
"They may rest in peace." She frowned.
"So, you live alone?" Linda turned to me.
"Yeah, but my bestfriend lives in the same building, so I'm not really alone."
"Ethan," Elliot's voice dragged my attention as I heard the sound of a fork hitting the plate loudly.
"Ethan, are you okay?" Elliot raised his voice as Ethan's eyes rolled back before he fell of the chair.
"Oh my God, what's wrong?" Gabrielle screamed as we all got up.
"Get some water or perfume." Elliot yelled, and I opened the fridge to grap the first bottle of water my eyes could land on.
"Raise his legs, Elliot. Maybe his blood pressure has gone down." I instructed as I knelt beside him.
"Here's my perfume." Linda's hands shook as she handed it to me.
They're all in panic, and I'm practically the only one in control, now.
Openning the bottle, I made him sniff it's strong scent. He scrunched his nose as he turned his face to the side throwing up on the floor.
"What did you take?" Elliot screamed looking at a mark on Ethans arm.
Giving him a sharp slap, he stood up with his head in his hands.
"Elliot, calm down." I yelled pushing him back.
"You're defending him?" He screamed as Ethan sat up with his head in his hands.
"I don't understand anything!"
"Linda, mum, get out of here." Elliot yelled making them flinch.
"You're jumping to conclusions, I just caught a flu." Ethan lied making me roll my eyes.
"Then, come." He snapped pulling him up by the shirt and dragging him out.
"Elliot!" Linda screamed crying her eyes our.
"I'll go with them. Don't worry." I said quickly picking my coat and purse before running after them.
"I'm coming with you." I told Elliot as I opened the car door.
Not replying, he sped out of the driveway. I've never seen him that furious before.
"I'm not a child that you'd boss around. I'm big enough to manage my life the way I want." Ethan yelled kicking the back of Elliot's seat.
Tightning his grip on the wheel, Elliot took a turn to stop in front of the hospital gates.
Stepping out, he pulled Ethan out of the car in anger.
"Elliot, be calm." I glared at him.
"We need to make blood tests, please." "By the end of this hall, you'll find another desk, tell them exactly what you need." The lady smiled at him.
---------
"How could I be so stupid?" Elliot groaned tugging at his hair.
"Elliot, you need to think about what you gonna do next. Violence won't help one bit."
"He's a heroin addict. What do you think I should do? It's a one way track, Dareen. There's no way back." His eyes were glossy and he looked like a lost puppy.
"There is. The doctor said that he's still on shore, Elliot. It's under control, but you need to call someone who'll tell you exactly how you should act around him."
"I'll call Mark, my friend. He's a therapist." He sighed getting up.
"I'll check on him so that we could leave." I sighed getting up.
Knocking on the door lightly, I stepped in to find him trying to open the window.
"You can't run through these bars." I sighed closing the door.
"Who gave you permission to get in here? Huh!" He yelled pushing me back.
"I didn't want Elliot to come here. He's really nervous." I crossed my arms over my chest, "I came here to tell you to put on your shoes, so that we can leave." I sighed. "We're waiting outside."
"You're happy now, aren't you?"
"Sorry?" I turned to face him.
"I don't blame you, though. If I were you, I'd throw a fucking party." He snapped slapping the wall next to me.
"You did that, Ethan. I'm here with Elliot not for you in any way. I don't care about you to the extent that I don't even hate you. You're nothing." Pulling the door open, I walked out slamming it shut behind my back.
"What did Mark tell you?" I asked Elliot.
"He told me to do a few things till tonorrow."
"And what will you do tomorrow?"
"I'd take him to a rehabilitation center."
"Are you sure?"
"I don't know." He shook his head as Ethan stepped out of the room.
"I'm- I'm ready." He said quietly.
"I'll get the car. Wait here." Elliot sighed as he got up without even looking at his brother.
