Song: Monster- Imagine Dragons.
Elliot
"Maria, I want you to call Miss Isaac and tell her to come here immediately." I ordered.
"But, she's on a vacation, sir."
"Did you hear what I said?" I raised my voice glaring at her.
"Sure, sir. Anything else?"
"I need a mug of coffee, please."
"Okay, sir. Excuse me." She nodded before stepping out.
"Elliot, did you see that?" Sandra barged into my new office.
"What?" I furrowed my brows as she threw a journal on my desk.
"Read this." She pointed at an article, and I saw the picture of Dareen and I nearly kissing on the dance floor, and another one with me holding her arm before she left.
"Elliot Evans, and Cindrella." The title read.
Furrowing my brows, I started reading quicker.
"... It looked like Sir Evans was about to kiss her, but for some reason, she refused. Is she the new princess?
We're not sure of that, but we're sure that she's the new Cindrella as she was out of sight once the clock ticked twelve." Not able to control my anger, I crumbled the paper, and threw it across the office.
"They are asking for it!" I yelled.
"I told you to take care, Elliot!" She frowned.
"I don't need to fucking take their permission to talk to anyone or dance with anyone-" I was cut off by Maria stepping into the office with a small tray in her hand.
"Did I give you permission to step in?" I screamed making her flinch.
"I'm sorry, sir. I knocked, but-"
"But I didn't say come in, did I?"
"I'm sorry, sir." She whimpered.
"Leave." I rolled my eyes, and finally the door clicked shut.
"Elliot, you need to control your anger. We never heard dad yelling at one of the workers here." Sandra warned.
"I'm losing my shit. Everything is going wrong, and as if I have no other problems, I should call that motherfucker and sort it out. What is that, anyways? Cindrella and her prince charming? Seriously?" I rolled my eyes.
"Calm down. I'll take care of it, but stop yelling at the poor girl. She has nothing to do with it all."
"Okay. Tell her to come in on your way out." I sighed sitting behind my desk. The view here is beautiful, and I believe that it would get better when Dareen joins us again. All that will separate us is transparent glass.
A knock on the door broke my train of thoughts. "Come in." I called out.
With a frown etched on her face, Maria stepped in quietly.
"You called me, sir."
"Yeah, I'm sorry for yelling at you, Maria."
"It's okay, sir." She sighed as her phone started ringing outside.
"You can answer the phone. I just wanted to apologize."
"Alright, sir. Thank you." She nodded before stepping out.
Grabbing my glass of water, I dropped an effervescent tablet. I need something to help me get over this stress. It's still my first day...
"Sir Elliot, Miss Isaac is here to meet you." Maria announced.
"Let her in." I replied watching the tiny bubbles rise as Dareen stepped into the room.
"Take a seat, please."
Eyeing the glass in my hands for a second, she shook her head as she took a seat across of me.
Gulping down the medecine, I finally set down the glass and turned to her.
"Sorry for making you come like this, but you know that everything is a mess today due to all the changes." I sighed.
"It's okay, sir. May I know why did you want me?"
"Well," I cleared my throat leaning back, "I know that you still have a couple of days off, but you have to cut this vacation cause as you know, I took Sir Adam's position, and there's no one to do our work except you."
"Sorry? I'm not ready, and anyways, I wanted to give you this from the beginning." She handed me a paper. Her resignation letter.
"I thought that you talked with Sir Adam about this already?" I raised a brow.
"I did, but he didn't tell me that I'd be in this position. That was not our deal." She shrugged.
"I won't sign that, and I think that you should take this over with, and carry on with your work without mixing between your personal life, and this."
"Well, don't sign it. I'm not staying anyways." She snapped getting up.
"You know right well that you can't stop working unless I do one of these things: Fire you or sign this paper, and since I won't do either of them, you have to carry on working just like it was written in the contract. If this didn't happen, then unfortunately, your problem will be with the department of legal affairs, and you'll be punished for breaking the law."
"So you're threatening me?"
"I can't even do that. I'm just warning you from getting yourself in trouble." I shrugged.
"That's what happens when I trust a man." She scrunched her nose in disgust.
"You gave me no other choice, Dareen. You're driving me crazy, and now, no one can stop me."
"I gave you no choice?" She laughed humorlessly, "Elliot, you lied straight to my face. You did this, not me. You're destroying my life and toying with my emotions in the worst way possible. You're a monster." She whispered.
"I-"
"I am moving on with my life. Let's work like professional people till this year ends, and after that, you won't see my face again."
"No one can have you." I snapped.
"You don't own me! Don't forget who you are, sir." She yelled, "and don't forget who am I! I'm Dareen Isaac!"
"And I'm Elliot Evans. Nice to meet you!" I stood up in anger.
"I'm leaving." She shook her head picking up her back.
"I didn't finish!" I yelled making her stop in her tracks. "We're still going to Morocco by the end of this week, and you're going to move to this office across of me."
"I can't skip Uni! Aren't these your words?" She narrowed her eyes.
"It's just a couple of days, and I am sure you can sort it out." I shrugged before sitting back behind my desk. "You're dismissed."
