Song: 1901- Birdy.
Elliot
"Good morning, baby." I groaned pecking her cheek as she sat in front of the window reading a book while drinking her coffee.
"Morning." She answered quietly not looking up.
That's weird.
"Did you eat breakfast before drinking that?" I teased her as she always says that to me.
"I ate a fruit." She shrugged.
"Dareen, will you look at me?" I sighed taking the book from her.
"What, Elliot? Can't you see that I am reading?" She huffed.
"What's wrong?" I asked quietly placing my thumb and forefinger under her chin to make her look at me.
"Nothing." She shook her head.
"I see we will need chocolate soon, then?" I chuckled.
"No." She shook her head again as she stood up. "Won't you go home?"
"You're kicking me out?" I raised a brow.
"No, but you always leave, so I was just asking." She shrugged.
"Dareen, seriously, what's wrong with you?"
"I'm mad, Elliot. I'm so mad at you!" She slammed the fridge door shut before turning to face me.
"What? Why? Did I do something wrong?" My eyes widened as I walked closer to her.
"Not exactly, but there's a special thing that you never do even though you should!" She glared at me.
"What is it?"
"You really don't know?" She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Dareen, just say it!" I rolled my eyes.
"Elliot, what are we going to do next? What are your plans for the future?"
"From where did that question come?" I furrowed my brows.
"It came from the fact that I feel unsafe with you. You act as if we're fooling around- as if you're not serious." She narrowed her eyes.
"Wha-what are you saying?" I frowned, "Dareen, I've never been more serious. Why are you thinking that way? You were the one to tell me to take things slow!"
"Yeah, and I'm not telling you that I want us to get married, now, but- you can do other things to show me that you're serious!" She protested.
"Like?"
"Like introducing me to your family for example. I feel like you're keeping me a secret." My heart started beating faster at this.
"That's bullshit cause I always talk about you in front of them. They know when I am staying here and when I'm taking you out!"
"Then what's the problem?"
"The problem is that you're in a relationship with me not my family." I sighed.
"I know, but-"
"We're not going to fight over that, are we?" I looked at her to see her already rolling her eyes.
"You're using my love for you against me." She whispered as I cupped her cheeks.
"Oh, my baby is being romantic." I teased.
"Elliot, leave me. Harry and christina are coming over, so I have to prepare breakfast."
"I'll help you." I smiled kissing the top of her head. "I love you. Don't be mad at me." I whispered to her.
"Ehm, don't make me." She shrugged pulling away from me.
"I'm going to change, so that we won't be late to work." I groaned.
Not waiting for her reply, I walked to the bedroom and closed the door behind me.
This lie will come to an end soon..

"Tell me that everything is fine, now." Christina whispered to me.
"He didn't give me the reply I was seeking. I thought that he'd hold me from my hand and take me with him, but no- he just changed the subject." I rolled my eyes.
"Let it go, and he'll do it soon. Mark my words."
"Whatever. Let's go." I rolled my eyes picking up two plates.
"I see you're waiting for us to serve you?" I rolled my eyes at Harry and Elliot.
"We will wash the dishes, I promise." Harry smiled.
"We'll see." I shrugged.
"Thank you." Elliot smiled faitly as I handed him the basket of bread.
"You're welcome."
"I swear to do my best... just give me some time." He leaned in whispering in my ear.
"I hope so." I sighed as he held my hand under the table.

Elliot
"Okay, Linda." I sighed as I looked out of the window.
"Something's wrong? You sound weird." I heard the frown in her voice. "Just a few problems here." I mumbled as Dareen stepped back into our office.
"Don't stress yourself out, and don't stay out too late. We need to celebrate with Ethan."
"I still can't believe that he passed this year." I chuckled.
"Yeah, Alice was crying yesterday, and she kept asking for you. Get her chocolate on your way cause she's so mad at you."
"Okay, talk to you later."
"Bye, son."
"Bye bye." I finally hung up.
"Sign these." Dareen slipped a file in front of me before turning around.
Holding her hand, I stopped her.
"Till when are you going to treat me like this?"
"Like what?" She sighed turned around to face me.
"Like this." I pointed at her.
"I'm fine, Elliot. I don't want yo talk about that again. Plus, we're at work, so let's just keep it aside for now." She smiled faintly, and I nodded letting go of her hand.
"We have a meeting with sir Adam in half an hour." I announced checking the time.
"Yeah, I remember." She nodded.
"We have nothing till then, so-"
"Don't even think about it. I have to put everything in order. Look at my desk." She huffed.
"Fine, let me help you." I sighed walking over to her.
----
"As you know, I should go with you to Morocco to check the materials and meet up with the suppliers." Sir Adam started.
"Yeah, as much as I know... you were going with Elliot." Dareen looked at me.
"That was the plan, but after thinking about it, I decided that both of you must go."
"But-"
"No buts. I have no one else to trust. You can do it." He nodded at us before getting up. "You'll take my place, and she'll take yours. Make me proud." He patted my shoulder before picking up my room and walking out.
Wait-what?
