• OGBONO SOUP
Ingredients:
Ogbono seeds
Stock fish
Beef
Palm oil
Vegetable
Crayfish
Pepper
Salt
Onions
Seasoning cube
Ogiri Okpei
Preparation tips:
Grind the Ogbono seeds and Okpei together, wash the vegetables, prepare the other ingredients.
Preparation:
1. Wash the beef and fish and put into a pot. Turn the heat on and add the other ingredients (pepper, seasoning cube, onions).
2. Once the beef is done, turn off the heat and shift the beef and fish to one side of the pot so that the stock can move to the other side, then pour in the grinded Ogbono seed and mix thoroughly. Use your cooking spoon and add the palm oil (it depends on the quantity you’re cooking) and mix everything together and pour in some water (depending on the quantity you’re cooking) before turning the heat on.
3. Add in the remaining ingredients (pepper, crayfish, seasoning cube and salt to taste) and cut your vegetable. Check and stir often to avoid burning, by now the aroma must have filled the house. If you’re using Okro, add it in and allow it to cook for a while before adding the vegetables. If you’re using only bitter leaf, add it in and wait awhile so it will cook before turning off the heat.
