Legolas POV

Tauriel and I took the Orc we captured back to my Father, the King. We interrogated the Orc, asked him questions on why they were tracking the company of thirteen dwarves. He didn't give us a straight answer, but he did mention something about the dwarf Tauriel was talking to the other night, said that he had been shot by a Morgul shaft. He'll be dead soon, but that's not what mattered. Father made Tauriel leave, after nearly killing the Orc herself. Father and I continued to ask the Orc questions. He then proceeded to say something about the Dwarves entering the mountain but that is absurd. The dragon, Smaug still lives. I ask him more questions about it but he instead mentions his master serving 'The One'. I am not sure what that means, but by the look on my fathers face, he knew exactly what the orc meant. After beheading the Orc, Father demands that no one shall enter or leave the Kingdom. Once I tell the guards to seal the gate, one of them informs me that Tauriel had left with her weapons and still hasn't returned. I am now forced to follow her and bring her back.

After following her trail, I caught up to her pretty quickly. I find her standing on the edge of the river that is looking out towards the large lake in between The Lonely Mountain and Mirkwood, with Laketown in the distance. I purposely make enough noise to make my presence known to her. She quickly spins around, pulling her bow, aiming it at me. I mirror her movements.

She smirks. "I thought you were an Orc." She says.

"If I were an Orc you would be dead." I tell her. We both drop our bows. "Tauriel, you cannot hunt 30 Orcs on your own." I say, approaching her.

"But I'm not on my own." She says, looking at me.

"You knew I would come." I ask. She just smirks, knowingly. "The King is angry, Tauriel. For 600 years my father has protected you, favored you." I move to stand next to her. "You defied his orders. You betrayed his trust. Come back with me...he will forgive you." I plead with her.

She frowns. "But I will not. If I go back, I will not forgive myself." She pauses. "The King has never let Orc filth roam our lands, yet he would let this Orc pack cross our borders and kill our prisoners." Tauriel tells me, looking towards Laketown.

"It is not our fight." I tell her, firmly, trying to ignore her popping up in my mind.

"It is our fight. It will not end here." She says, walking to me. "With every victory this evil will grow. If your father has his way, we will do nothing. We will hide within our walls...live our lives away from the light...and let darkness descend." She pauses. "Are we not part of this world?" She pauses again. "Is she...not?" I asks softly. My head snaps to her, confused and also surprised. She gives me a pleading, knowing look. I cannot help it as Y/N flashes through my mind again.

"Tell me, Mellon. When did we let evil become stronger than us?" She asks.

I sigh heavily. Tauriel is right. We cannot let this evil grow. We need to save them.

...save her.

Y/N POV

The dwarves were chatting amongst themselves inside Bard's home, planning the perfect time to sneak to the armory. I spent that time sitting with Bard's youngest, Tilda. She is the sweetest. We talked about different random things but I couldn't help my curiosity. I had to see what this book was saying about me, so I asked her about it. She went on and on about it, telling me how much she loves the story and hopes that one day it will come true. She even showed some of the ancient pictures that were drawn on some of the pages. One of them, was a picture of a woman wearing a red outfit that flows out the back, black pants and boots that had some red lines through them, red gloves that stopped above her elbow and a red pointed crown on her head.
