As they walked along the cold corridor, back to the spot they had separated from Katie and Travis, Connor kept flirting with Rose. She rolled her eyes and flirted back.

"-alright, how about a bet then?" Connor said, smirking.

"What kind of bet?" Rose replied, crossing her arms.

"I bet that Travis will confess before Katie," he said.

"Good joke, he's way too clueless! Katie will definitely confess first!" she countered.

"You're on," he said.

"If I win, you stop pranking the entire camp for... a month!" Rose said, placing her hands on her hips.

He gasped loudly. "You wouldn't dare," he said.

"I would," she replied.

He placed a finger on his chin, pretending to wonder what to make his prize.

"And if I win... you have to go on a date with me," he smirked.

Her face fell and her smile vanished. "Stoll, you- don't you-"

"It's fair!" he said. "Your prize is crazy hurtful for me! My prize should be the same for you!"

She clenched her jaw and made sure to steer them away from the tiny, pink roses that kept popping up on the stone floor.

"B-but- you- I- my siblings would never let it go!" she complained.

"Not my problem," he said, shrugging.

She imagined the date and couldn't help but shiver.
Whether it was from horror or excitement, she couldn't tell.

"I won't agree to the bet if you don't agree to the prize," he said stubbornly.

She inhaled sharply and sighed. "Fine. Say goodbye to pranks," she said.

"Say goodbye to dignity," he replied. She rolled her eyes.

That's when she stopped walking. He copied her.

"Hey, isn't it weird that we haven't found Katie and Travis yet?" she said.

"Ooh, maybe one of them already confessed!" Connor said.

Rose ignored him and pulled out her camera. She clicked on the red TI button and looked at the colorful screen as she pointed the lens at the corridor in front of them. Then she turned it slightly to the left.

"Look," she said, "there's three large heat shapes here."

"And here, on the left," Connor noticed, "two smaller heat... things, do you think those could be..."

"Travis and Katie? Yes," she said.

Connor unsheathed his sword.

Slowly, the two of them quietly sneaked through the corridor. They could hear voices booming from the left. After around 40 feet (12 meters) they found a stone arch to the left.

Before walking inside, Rose lifted her hand to tell Connor to stop and listen.

"-so no! Prinse, I've told you already! Demigods taste better with salsa!"

The voice was deep, scratchy, and sounded female, but it just wasn't... human.

"But I don't like spicy foods, Kuinn! They tickle my tongue!"

This voice was younger but still, not human.

"How 'bout we make a demigod fruit salad?" a third voice said.
