As Rose, Travis, and Katie fought the six fire demons and the Empousa Queen Arke, Connor, Iris, and the Jarlan 5 left the kitchen, weaving their way through all kinds of adventures.
Travis, Katie, and Rose had just left to retrieve Iris' wings.
As they left the chef behind, tied up in the kitchen, Connor started a game for himself.
He would try to guess who the children's godly parents were!
He'd prepare a detailed paper on who he thought would be the closest candidate, look it over with Rose, and then cheer when the kid got claimed by the god he expected.
That or, more realistically, he'd get bored of it and/or completely forget to do it, and he'd also probably turn out to be wrong.
"So we're definitely going with Connor?" Raven said. She huffed. "We're going to die."
Connor pouted.
I preferred you when you were scared and quiet, he thought. What did Katie put in that tea? It's like they've forgotten all their fear!
"All good, guys? Is everybody with me?" Connor asked.
An unenthusiastic "Yay..." rang in the corridor.
Iris, who was walking close to Jinny, at the back of the line, smiled with amusement.
"Okay! Let's try not to leave anyone behind!" Connor said eagerly.
As they reached a fork, Connor took out Rose's camera and looked through the screen. He couldn't help but smile as he thought about her giving it to him.
They turned to the right and kept walking down the hallway.
Connor noticed that Violet was trudging behind at the end of their single file line. She was walking behind Adora and in front of Iris.
"Stay at the front," he told Andrés, who was standing just behind him.
Andrés nodded and Connor quickly made his way towards Violet. His fiery hat nearly toppled over, but he pulled it back up.
"Come on 5, don't lag behind! We don't want anyone to get lost!" Connor said.
"I'm not a freaking 5," Violet grumbled.
"Agreed," said Adora, turning around and walking backwards with a smirk, her blonde high-ponytail swishing from side to side, "you're a 10."
Violet blinked twice, not knowing how to react to that.
Connor stared at her. "Kid, you're 9, chill."
As he turned around and rushed back to the front of the line, he scowled.
"Nine and coming up with better pick-up lines than me," he grumbled. Then, to make himself feel better, he mumbled: "She probably saw that on TV or something."
Hey, maybe she's an Aphrodite kid, he thought.
They walked for what felt like an hour but was actually 10 minutes. Whenever they reached a fork, Connor would look through the screen of the camera to see which way to go down.
As they neared another fork, Connor realized that this was insanely boring, for both him and the children.
Walking down a hall... Changing direction... Bla bla bla... Hey, wouldn't it be cool if, as we walked down hallways that lead out of here, we find safe, interesting rooms to explore with the kids? That would be awesome!
