Ch.12: A Helicopter and an Asinus.

A/N: This chapter takes place during TLO, ch.16 ("We get help from a thief").

Rachel brings drama,

"What's that noise?" Brina said suddenly.

There was a sputtering thwop thwop thwop in the air.

"It's a helicopter!" said Travis, pointing in the air.

On the side of the helicopter were the letters DE.

"It's going to crash!" Katie shouted.

"The pilot must've fallen asleep," said Rose. "How'd they even get this far?"

Katie, Rose, Brina, and Travis stared as Percy Jackson mounted a pegasus with Annabeth and slammed against the helicopter for Annabeth to get pulled in by a red-headed girl.

Annabeth seemed to regain control of the helicopter and, miraculously, the helicopter righted itself. It spun in a circle and hovered. Very slowly, it began to descend. It seemed to take forever, but finally, the helicopter thudded to a landing in the middle of Fifth Avenue.

"That woman is incredible," said Rose.

"Rose!! Hey, can you hide me— Is that a helicopter?" Connor appeared and hid between his girlfriend and her sister.

"Yes. It's a helicopter. What are you hiding from?"

"Your parents? Your mother looked like she wanted to kill me."

That Connor boy seems very horny.

Rose shivered. "That's probable."

"Your parents?" said Katie.

"They answered my call," said Rose. "It just took them a while to get through Kronos' barrier."

Percy reunited with Annabeth and the redhead that Rose now recognized as Rachel, the clear-sighted mortal who accompanied Percy on his quest in the Labyrinth.

Annabeth stormed away and Percy stayed to speak with Rachel, sitting on a curb.

"Hellooo, drama," said Katie.

Chiron then arrived to speak with Rachel.

"Well, I'm going to take a nap," said Rose. "We've been fighting all night, you guys should too."

"I'm too freaked by your parents' presence to sleep," said Connor.

"Connor, your tongue is purple," said Katie, crossing her arms, amused.

Before Katie could judge her too much, Rose walked over to a bench and lay down on the uncomfortable, hard material.

Thoroughly exhausted, she immediately fell asleep and her mind pulled away from her body and her eyes saw through Lily's.

Lily was in the midst of fighting dracaenae with her golden-bronze spear. Further away, the neatly organized legion was still fighting fiercely, with an order that Rose deeply appreciated.

Lily, on the other hand, was part of the smaller groups that had been torn away from the army's sides. She was alone, fighting with Isabella, the pretty Columbian girl, and Jason Grace. The three were fighting back to back, forming a small triangle.

"Get over here, you asinus!" Isabella screamed at her enemies.

"Yeah! Get that Gluteus Maximus!" Lily shouted.
